Dies In Houston
Funeral services for Fred
Ford Hines 67 of Houston for-
mer resident of tho Davilla-
Bartlett area were conducted at
10:30 a.m. Monday at the Chap-
el of the .Chimes in Houston
with I&v. M. A. Marshall office
fating. Burial was in the Brook-
aide Cemetery.
Mr. Hines was a graduate of
Bartlett High School and was a
former resident of the Davilla-
Bartlett area. He was a member
of the Christian Church in Dav-
illa. He was a retired Cook Book
Bakery salesman with 44 years
of service. He was a school bus
operator for the Houston Inde-
pendent School District.
Survivors include his wife
Mrs. Nancy Adina Hines of
Houston; two daughters Mrs.
George Boe of Bedford Mass.
and Mrs. Russell Avery of
Houston ; a sister Mrs. Joe Pet-
rite of Bellaire; three brothers
Oscar Hines and Bill Hines of
Davilla and Curtis Hines of
Thorndale; nine grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were William
Neal Galbreath Jimmy Hines

Hand House." Assisting her on
the program was Mrs. Elmer
Cryer.
Mrs. William Whitlow pres-
ident presided over the busi-
ness session. She announced
that Guild Week-end is sched-
uled for the week-end of March
8th in Glen Rose.
The group voted to have 3ome
work done in the kitchen of the
parsonage and perhaps add
draperies in the house.

M. Gattis a native and lifelong
resident of the Jonah commun-
ity and mother of John Gat-
tis of Schwertner were con-
ducted at 3 p. m. Monday
Jan. 26th in the Condra Me-
morial Chapel in Taylor with
the Rev. Kenneth Morgan of-
ficiating. Burial was in the Jo-
nah Cemetery.
Mrs. Gattis was born Feb. 7
18751 in Jonah and had had
lier -ninetieth birthday almost

She was preceded in death by
her husband and four broth-
icrrs. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Baker of
Fort Worth were week-end vis-
itors of Mr. and Mrs. Homer
Whitfield.
