Police
7/21—Seminole Police and
Child Protective Services are
currently working a case involving
a possibly abandoned child.
Police were called to Wal-
Mart Sunday in reference In an
County Sheriff’s office.
7/24—Officers were
dispatched to the 800 block of
Southwest 10lh Street in reference
to criminal mischief.
Officers were told that a
vehicle windshield w as broken, the

Firefighters were called to a hay
fire on County Road 331.
7/25—Seminole Volunteer
Firefighters assisted at the scene of
an accident on Telephone Road.
No serious injuries were
abandonetLchild and officers took
custody of an 18-month old female
at the location.
Child Protective Services
(CPS) was contacted and the child
was released to a CPS caseworker,
then placed into a foster home.
Approximately five hours
after the child was discovered, her
parents contacted Seminole police.
As of presstime, the child was
still ’in the foster home and
investigation by both agencies was
continuing. No charges had been
filed as of presstime.

the 500 block of Northwest Avenue
J in reference to criminal mischief.
A report was taken and
investigation is underway.

the 500 block of North Main in
reference to a theft.
A complainant said a piece of
heavy machinery, valued at
$1,200. was taken from the rear of
the location.

investigation is underway.
7/22—Officers were
dispatched to the Sonic Drive-In
in reference to intoxicated persons
causing trouble
When officers arrived, they
located the subjects at the west end
of the business and administered
field sobnety evaluations, which
they failed.
Arrested for public
intoxication were Raul Ramos. 51,
of Robstown and Antonio
Hemandei. 44. of Ptainview
A subsequent search of the
vehicle revealed a handgun and an
illegal knife and the owner of the
vehicle admitted the weapons
belonged to him. He was
additionally charged with
unlawfully carrying a weapon.
7/23—A complainant in the
700 block of Northwest Avenue G
told police two, five gallon gas
containers were stolen off a trailer
at the residence
7/22—A complainant in the
1400 block of South Main brought
a check to the police department
which had been forged.
A report was taken and
investigation is underway.
7/23—A subject identified as
Enk Fox, 30. of Lampasas, was in
custody in the Gaines County Jail,
when officers served a felony
warrant from the Lampasas

investigated a two-vehicle accident
at the intersection of South Main
and Southwest Avenue C.
Investigators said a 2001
GMC pickup, driven hy Cathy
Beyers, 18, of 200 Northeast
Avenue 1. entered South Main
from a private parking lot and a
1989 GMC pickup, driven by
Juanita Wiggins. 81, of 402 SW
14,h Street, was stopped at the stop
sign on Southw est Avenue C lacing
east.
The Wiggins vehicle entered
the roadway and was struck b\ the
Beyers vehicle, causing minor
damage to the Beyers vehicle and
moderate damage to the Wiggins
vehicle.

investigated an accident in the 100
block of the Hobbs Highway.
Investigators said a 2001
BMW. driven by Sujata Ayvagari.
46. of Hobbs, was stopped facing
cast on the Hobbs Highway. A
1996 Mack truck, towing a trailer
and driven by Donald Whitworth.
50. of Abernathy, w as headed east
on the Hobbs Highway and struck
the rear of the BMW', causing
moderate damage to the car and
none to either the truck or trailer

Shooting Range
The Gaines County Trap and
Skeet Range, located seven miles
north of Seminole, is now open to
the public for shooting

Saturday from 1-6 p.m Cost is S6
per round and participants must he
at least eight years of age to shoot.

Crime Stoppers Information
During the past 90 days, the Seminole Police Department has
received various reports of stolen equipment from various locations.
Included are:
— A shop made single axle trailer with a 1953 Hohar 3(8)gasoline
welder mounted on the trailer. The trailer also had a black tool box
mounted on the front of the trailer. The trailer also had various welding
equipment on it;
—A 10-foot utility trailer with a Lincoln 240D gasoline welder
mounted on it. The trailer also had various welding equipment and
tools on the trailer.
—A 1998. 14-foot Paris Quality super light flatbed utility trailer
with tandem axles, and black in color.
—An older model gasoline operated cement trowel, orange in
color.
