A.R. Maxwell
William “Bill” Lynn Cullers
County, as registered Brangus
breeders. The family have maintained
the ranch since 1876.
Cullers and the former Linda Jacks
were married on July 27, 1962. He was
a deacon of First Baptist Curch and a
member of Phi Delta Kappa, Red River
Valley Industrial Arts Assn., Pines and
Plains Brangus Breeders, National
Cattlemen Assn., Texas State Teachers
Assn., National Education Assn., and
Wichita Falls Classroom Teachers
Assn.
Survivors include his wife Linda; two
daughters, Brenda and Cara, and a son
Justin, all of the home in Wichita Falls;
and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Cullers, of Henrietta and his
mother-in-law, Mrs. Loyd Jacks of
Archer City.
Pallbearers were: Royce Thomas,
Randy Holley, Jos Osborne, Fred
Lewis, Jim Ginnings and Tom Merritt.
Deacons of First Baptist Church were
honorary pallbearers.
Holliday Trash Days
The City of Holliday began new refuse
collection schedules Monday, August
19. The Monday and Tuesday routes
are now picked up on Mondays, and the
Wednesday and Thursday routes are
now picked up on Tuesdays.
Services for A.R. “Ray” Maxwell, 70,
were held Thursday, August 15, in First
Baptist Church in Archer City with Bill
Potts, pastor, officiating. Burial was in
the Archer City Cemetery with
arrangements by Aulds Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, August 13, in a
Wichita Falls hospital.
Maxwell was born December 18, 1914
and lived in Archer City from
1925-1949. He moved to Ft. Worth and
returned to Archer City in 1961. He
was self-employed and owned Ray’s
Bit Service and Welding of Archer City.
He and Johnnie Faye Isbell were
married Sept. 15,1945, in Weatherford,
Texas. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church where he also served as
deacon.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter,
Martha Ann Nix of Big Springs, Tx.; his
stepmother, Edna Maxwell of Heald-
ton, Ok.; two brothers, J.D. Pitts of
Archer City and A.W. of Whirt, Ok.;
seven grandchildren; and nine
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were deacons of the First
Baptist Church: Carl Beall, Mike Ditto,
Gary Beesinger, Jack Loftin, Buddy
Crelia, and Rob Starnes. Honorary
pallbearers included Herman Lewis,
J.D. Mullis, Wayne Abshier, Dr. R.D.
Schlomach, Jimmy Davis, and Judge
Bill Holder.
New Members Join SMCMS
Funeral services for William “Bill”
Lynn Cullers, 46 of Wichita Falls were
held Saturday in First Baptist Church,
Wichita Falls with Dr. Joseph Hester,
associate pastor, officiating. Burial was;
in Hope Cemetery In Henrietta.
Cullers was born Oct. 6, 1938 in Bowie
and taught industrial technology at
Kirby Junior high School for 15 years.
He taught at Barwise nine years prior to
going to Kirby. He was in business with
his father on the family ranch in Clay
Mrs. Lois Woodrum
Funeral services for former Dundee
resident Mrs. Lois Woodrum, 84, of
Cedar Hill; Texas, were held Tuesday
in the Hampton-Vaughn Funeral Home
in Wichita Falls. Rev. Glen Hayden,
pastor of First Baptist Church, Cedar
Hill, officiated with burial in Rosemont
Cemetery under the direction oT
Hampton-Vaughn.
Mrs. Woodrum died Sunday in a Dallas
hospital. She was born Oct. 10, 1899 in
the West Fork Community of Archer
County, the daughter of pioneer
missionary Rev. and Mrs. Perry
Harmonson. She was a member of First
Baptist Church of Cedar Hill and a
former member, pianist, and teacher
for Lamar Baptist Church in Wichita
Falls. She married W. Frank Woodrum
of Dundee on July 28, 1919 in Archer
County.
Survivors include her husband, W.F.
Woodrum of Cedar Hill;' a son, Jack
Woodrum of Cedar Hill; two daughters,
Frances Hagler and Julia Woodrum,
both of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. J.D, (Inda)
Smyth of Abilene and five grandchil-
dren.
Pallbearers were Vernon Beck, Howard
Morgan, O.R. Bowling, Dr. C.C.
Hayley, Roy Bowling, and Jess
Johnson..,
Recently two new members joined the
St. Mary’s Christian Mothers Society in
Windthorst. After Holy Mass, Father
Bartholomew performed the ceremony
receiving Loyce Huffman and E.J.
Teichman into the organization. A
business and social meeting was then
held in the Hall. _
It was reported that the next NCCW
meeting will be held in Montague on
Oct. 17 with the General Assembly
being held Nov. 7 in Wichita Falls at
Sacred Heart.
At the Mothers Society’s next meeting,
a 50-vear member will be honored.
