Teresa Martin has announced that
• she will seek re-election for the office
of Archer County Tax Assessor-Col-
lector in the March 12, 1996 Demo-
Teresa took office Januay 1, 1989.
Prior to that date, she was a deputy tax
collector under Charles McDaniel.
She has worked for a total of 11 years
in the Tax Office working with tax
Teresa, daughter of Charles and
Delores Oliver, formerly of Scotland,
is a 1976 graduate of Archer City High
School. She is married to Pat Martin
and they have 2 children, Kristi, 15,
who is a sophomore and Patrick, 12,
who is a 7th grader in the Archer City
School. The Martin family attends the
Archer City Church of Christ.
It is my intent to continue to serve the
people' of Archer County as the Tax
Assessor-Collector as best as I know
how and to oversee the office in a
business-like atmosphere. I have en-
joyed this job and enjoyed working
with the people of Archer County and
would like to continue to do so. I
would appreciate your vote and sup-
port in the 1996 Primary Election.
Roger Towery, District Judge, has
announced his intent to seek re-elec-
tion as Judge of the 97th Distict Court
for Archer, Clay and Montague Coun-
ties in the Democratic Primary, March
12, 1996. Towery has served as 97th
District Judge since 1990.
"My primary judicial concern is as-
sure that all matters in the District
Court are decided according to the law
and the evidence presented in open
court, and our administration goal has
been to hear matters timely in each
county in order to ensure that all per-
sons may have their cases heard as
soon as possible, consistent with
guidelines issued by the Legislature
and the Texas Supreme Court."
Judge Towery and his wife, Ann,
have a 12 year old daughter, Sibby.
He graduated from Midwestern State
University in 1970, and from the
University of Texas School of Law in
Austin in 1973. Towery is a member
of the State Bar Foundation. He is a
past president of the Kiwanis Club of
Henrietta and a past president of the
Clay County Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to serving as District Judge,
Towery had been a felony prosecutor
and in private practice as an attorney
in Henrietta. He has been licensed in
Texas as an attorney since 1973. He
served in the United States Navy dur-
ing 1967-68 and in the Naval Reserve
from 1966-67 and 1969-71.
