The pupils in Mrs. Trents 7th
grade class are still talking
about the Jr. High band trip to
Jacksboro Saturday. We are very
proud of what our band did. Our
solos and ensembles did extremely
well also, Mr,. Xnepley said our
solos and ensembles got three
more medals than the high school
band., Wq are very proud because
a 11 ha”e work.ed very hard.
We are also very proud of the
high school band because they
got a trophy I
The students in Mrs. TrentTs
room would like this opoortunity
to tell everyone how much we
appreciate Mr. Xnepley. He has
worked so lard for our bands.
He has given up his free time to
help us in the afternoon. For

is very happy to say that Dolores
Schlabs is representing our room
in the Spelling Bee today. Good

There Is going to be a boxing
tournament March 12. There will
be 'Three cr four boys boxing
from our room.
PowellT s class had a good
time over our Friday vacation.
birthdays for March are Judy
Huffman, Charlotte Roderick, and
John Rutherford.
We are very glad for our
Fourth-Six-Weeks Test to be
over.
We have no boys going out for
track.
Quarrels would never last lorg
if there ware not faults on both
sides.
Mrs, Gann1s room was happy to
have so many visitors. We had
18 visitors who were Mrs. Burk-
ett, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Boone,
Mrs. Coleman, Mrs. Jewel Coleman,
Mrs. Wickman, Mrs. Haigood, Mrs.
C. L. Haigood, Mrs. Wright, Mrs.
Stewart, Mrsc Smitson, Mrs. Mo-
Broom, Mrs, Atchiey, Mrs. Kirk-
land, Mrs. Day, Mrs* Adams, and
Mrs. Schlabs. We are glad these
ladies came and hope they will
visit us again.
Mrs. Gann:s room is going to
have an assembly program March
10. The name of the play is
”The Stone in the Road.”
Mrs. Brother’s room is gettirg
over their six-weeks test.
Butch Hannah is getting over a
little car wreck. He had so
many patches on his face when he
came back to school that he
looked like a clown.
We are beginning to get a
program together for April 21.
Ev?ry one will take part in it.
David Wright was on the sick
list last week.
Junior High Band
Rates Good at Contest
The Junior High School Band
received a second in concert and
a third in sightreading at the
band contest in Jacksboro on Sat-
urday, March 7.
Those winning firsts in twirl-
ing were: Karen Barton, BonnpQ
Taylor, Carol Gillem, Charles
Brock and Ellen Stephens. Second
place winners were: Neva McLe-
more, Janet Gillem, Ellen Camp-
bell, and a trio consisting of
Charles Brock, Carol Gillem and
Bonnie Taylor.
Placing first in instrument
solos was Lucretia Mullis on the
alto sax.
Second place winners were:
Ronnie Woods, Trombone; Billy
Anderson, cornet; Ronnie Wright,
cornet; Charles Brock, tenor sax;
Lisa Eckstine, bass clarinet; and
Donny Linscott, trombone.
Third place winners were;
Vicki Strawn, cornet; Ellen Camr>
bell, flute; Carol Gillem, bari-
tone sax; and Sharon Wales,
clarinet.
