Ed die Mann Conroe High School bandsman at presenta-
tion of Lcnnie Holmes as band sweetheart. Eddie is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. Mann of Conroe and grandson
of Mr. and Mrs. Ford T. Mann of Temple all former resi-
dents of Bartlctt. Eddie is also drummer for a Christian
group of the First Baptist Church of Conroe called "The
Reflections."
Wednesday Club
Has Regular Meet
Members of the Woman's
Wednesday Club met Wednes-
day afternoon in the Town
Hall for their monthly business
meeting and program.
Mrs. Stanley Schwertner.
president conducted the short
business session and other offi-
cers gave brief reports.
A nominating committee
was appointed to select offi-
cers for the new club year.
Appointed to serve on this
committee wore Mrs. Robert
Ford Jr.. Mrs. Don Thnler and
Mrs. Robert Campbell.
The club members will pre-
sent a program consisting of
Christmas Carols and a Chirst-
mas Storv for the residents at
Will 0' Bell Nursing Home on
December 17th at 3:15 p. m.
Each club member is remind-
ed to take a gift for the home.
Following the program at the
nursing home the club mem-
bers will return to Town Hall
for their gift exchange and re-
freshments. Mrs. James Bailey introduc-
ed the guest speaker for the
day Mr. Bi-yant A. Messer of
Temple. He spoke informally
of his early life here where ho
grow up and attended the
public schools. Later he moved
to Temple where he attended
Temole Junior College and be-
gan his writing career. -He al-
so gave a summary of his re-
cently published book entitled.
"Bartlctt. A Thriving Town On
The Texas Prairie." This book
is a history of the early day
settlers and communities
many of which no longer exist
in the area.

ored with a Pink and Blue show
er Friday night in the fellow
ship hall of the Baptist Recre
ational building.
Hostesses were Mrs. Billy
White Mrs. F. G. Mihlberger
Mrs. Werner Braun and Mrs.
Travis Steglich.
Mrs. F. G. Mihlberger presid-
ed at the guest book and Mrs.
Travis Steglich .directed the
games.
Mrs. Billy White presided at
the gift table which was cov-
ered with a yellow and white
cloth and centered with a stork.
The serving table was cover-
ed with a white cloth and held
an arrangement of pink flowers
and pink candles. Pink punch
and cookies was served by Mrs.
Werner Braun.
Special guests were Mrs.
Worth While mother of the
honoree and Mrs. Jack Mather
of Florence mother-in-law of
the honoree and Mrs. Hattie
Pcschel of Granger and Mrs.
Ada Griffin of Killcen grand-
mothers of the honoree.
