Sheriff
1/15-A complainant from Lamesa
told Gaines County Sheriffs officers
that a person or persons unknown
had taken a tool box and tools from a
vehicle 30 miles southeast of
Seminole.
Police
1/15-Officers were dispatched to
the 100 block of Northwest 13th
Street in reference to a prowler.
Upon arrival, officers located a
subject leaving the area. The
complainant who reported the
prowler requested the subject be
issued a criminal trespass warning
for then* residence and police issued
the warning.
1/15—While on patrol, officers
stopped two individuals in the 200
block of North Main.
As they approached them, they
began to detect a very strong odor of
an alcoholic beverage coming from
one of the subjects.
A field sobriety examination was
administered to the subject, a
juvenile, and the subject was arrested
for minor consuming alcohol.
Accidents
1/15-Semnole Police investigated
an accident at the intersection of the
Hobbs Highway and Northwest 8*
Street.
Investigators said both a 1983
Ford Crown Victoria, driven by Clay
Hilliard, 45, of Denver City and a
1999 Oldsmobile, driven by John
Ethndge, 72, of Hobbs, were headed
cast on the Hobbs Highway, with the
Hilliard vehicle in the inside lane and
the Ethndge vehicle in the outside
lane.
Officers said the Hilliard vehicle
was in the process of changing lanes
when it struck the Ethridge car,
causing minor damage to the Ford

1/16—Seminole Police investigated
an accident which occurred in the
Wal-Mart parking lot.
Investigators said a 1994 Ford
Mustang, owned by Josd Flores of
Seminole, was parked in the south
parking area of Wal-Mart, facing
west and entered the store. The driver
then exited the store and drove to his
residence. He did not notice the
damage until later when he observed
damage to the tail lamp lens and
assembly and also uf the right rear
quarter panel, which was apparently
caused by another vehicle that left the
scene

Seminole Police Department investigators are investigating the theft of
money from soft drink machines located in Seminole at Thriftway, IGA and
Wal-Mart.
The thefts occurred during the evening hours of March 7, 2000 or the early
morning hours of March 8, 2000.
Anyone having information concerning the crime or anyone who observed
any suspicious person(s) or vehicle(s) in these areas during the time of the thefts
should call Gaines County Crime Stoppers at (915) 758-4025.

Seminole Police investigators are currently investigating a theft at Seminole
Memorial Hospital.
On Riday, Aug. 4, hospital administration reported that the administration
and business offices had been broken into sometime between the hours of 7:30
p.m. and 10:30 pjn. Aug. 3. The administration office door was forced open
and entry was gained into the business office through the administration offices.
Hospital officials reported that over $300 was taken from the payroll office.
Anyone having information concerning this incident or anyone who observed
any suspicious person or persons in the area of the administration or business
offices at the time given above should call Gaines County Crime Stoppers at (915)
758-4025. '
Gaines County Sheriffs officers are currently investigating a burglary that
occurred between Nov. 16 and 24 at a residence on County Road 213, nine miles
northwest of Seminole.
Entry was gained through a door in the garage and several items, with an
approximate value of just under $15,000, were taken.
