not already done so we would
suggest that you take a
little trip back East. The
statement that “there is no
place like home" will be
re-emphasized before you
return, You will be much more
willing to do conservation
work and keep our good area
here in the Panhandle and
Texas looking as they are
now.
Jack Barton of Follett
had 5 miles of broadbase
ridge type teiraces staked
on his farm. This starts a
system of terraces on 240
acres of cropland.
-Godfrey Kraft of Logan
jUffntly(completed ly2 miles
broadbase tenaces. These
terraces will complete
Godfrey's Great Plains Plan.
Jim Latham of Perry-
ton plans to level 30 acres
of cropland for irrigation pur-
poses. Jim intends to write
a Great Plains Plan on his
form in Beaver County.
Wayne Fluitt of Book-
er plans to constiuct ll/2
miles of terraces on his
farm in Beaver County under
the ACP Program.
Otis Desper of Forgan
plans to plant some Ever-
green Trees and asked us to
contact Jack Miller, who is
with the Oklahoma Wildlife
Fish and Game Department,
for him.
Lester Leatherman recent-
ly completed a four wire
fence on his farm. Cost
sharing will be provided
by the GreatPlains Program.
C. E. Law has finished
construction of two miles of
broadbase channel terraces.
Cost sharing will be furnish-
ed by the Great Plains Pro-
gram.
District Personnel staked
2V2 miles of terraces on Fred
Beard’s farm near Laverne.
Fred plans to build these
terraces with cost assistance
from the Great Plains Pro-
gram.
