Livestock Report
Receipt* totaled 2500 head
of cattle at the regular cattle
sale at Woodward Livestock
Auction Friday July 26- There
were 193 buyer* and 296 seller*
on the market. The weather
was hot and windy/ all classes
sold from steady to $1,00 lower
for the week, however there
was a good crowd In attendance
all day and the sale moved
rather active.
Slaughter steers were steady
to weak at 19.00 to 24.00.
Salughter heifers were about
the same at 19.00 to 23.50-
Cows moved at ,50 to 1,00
lower with the canners and cut*
ters bringing 10.00 to 13.00
with utility and commercial
cows selling at 13.00 to 15.00.
Slaughter bulls were lower and
lacking In quality of the bulls
a week ago. Most prices ranged
from 16.00 to 18.00. Slaughter
calves were selling near steady
at 21.00 to 24.60.
In the stocker and feeder
division, prices were near
steady on the better quality
eattle with the plainer kinds of
steers and heifers feeling the
most decline In price, Plainer
kinds of stocker steers sold at
18.00 to 21.00.. Most feeders at
21.00 to 24,00 with the better
stocker* at 23.00 to 25.00.
Plainer kinds of stock heifers
sold at 17,00 to 20.00 with the
better feeders at 20.00 to 23.50
and most of the better stoeker
heifers at 22.00 to 24.00.
Stocker steer calves sold at
23.00 to 26.00 for the plainer
and heavy kinds with the choice
lightweights selllna at 26.00
to 30.00. Stock heifer calves
• old at 22.00 to 24.00 for the
plainer and heavier ones with
the choke lightweights 24.00
to 26.50. Stock cow* aold at
110.00 to 160.00 or around
14.00 to 20.00 cwt. Cow and
calf pair* sold 150.00 to $215.
Breeding bull* sold at 150,00
to 250.00 per head.
