Adria Buerger and Greg
Pollock were “married” in the
high school auditorium, Jan. 18,
2002. The mock wedding was
for Mrs. Donette Pierce’s Indi-
vidual and Family Life class.
Every year Mrs. Pierce has
her students plan a mock wed-
ding to learn what it takes to be
a part of a marriage. The stu-
dents plan, set up and then par-
ticipate in a ceremony and re-
ception. Each student in the
class has a responsibility.
For the mock wedding the
students actually exchange
mock vows they wrote in class.
“It’s a great way to learn
about what there is to look for-
ward to in the future,” says jun-
ior Khristal Southard
Plans are made for every
single detail of the wedding. The
whole class gets together to plan
the ceremony. The class learns
to work together and coopera-
tively.
This year’s bride and groom
were Adria Buerger and Greg
Pollock. The bridesmaids were
Heather Garlington, Chelsy
Berend, Ashley Bouldin,
Danielle Mueller and Amanda
Victory. The Groomsmen were
Paul Terry, Jared Crouse, John
King, Jordan Daniel and Matt
Schenk. Performing the wedding
ceremony was Angel Ramos.
Coach Jon Bailey gave the bride
away.
These three ACHS seniors are happy to have been recently awarded the honor “Academic All State” in their respec-

1. Where is the most
exciting place you have
ever been?
2. What did you like to
do most when you were
a teenager?
3. Why did you decide
to become a teacher/
coach?
Mr. Riley Simpson
My family and I went on
vacation to Yellowstone
National Park. It was beautiful.
I liked to participate in live-
stock shows.
I like being around lots of
people and being able to teach
people how to do something.
Mrs. Priscilla Gibson
Europe! I played in a concert
band after I graduated high
school that toured Germany,
Switzerland, Belgium, Holland
and France.
Cruisin’—anywhere! Kemp St.,
Burkbumett, etc. I liked listen-
ing to loud music.
I loved being a musician and
being a band director is a way
to share that love. Plus I get to
be a part of music every day.
Coach Clay Strealy
Disney World. My wife and I
went there on our honeymoon.
I liked to play basketball and
do things with my church
youth group.
I like and enjoy kids. I want to
impact students in the same
positive way my teachers and
coaches impacted me.
Mrs. Mary Beth Simpson
Washington D.C. The White
House was my favorite
attraction.
I loved to play basketball.
I became a teacher because I
love children.
