stituted Feb. 13 at St. Mary’s
Church in Freer, Courts from
Alice, Benavides, Faifnrrias,
San Diego, and Kingsville par-
ticipated in the ceremony.
The following officers were
installed: Aida Perea, regent;
Maria Dolores Perea, 1st vice-
regent; Aurora Cantu, 2nd
vice-regent; Edna Monceda,
recording secretary; Betty
Hockmuth, financial
secretary; Lucy Arragon,
treasurer; Elvira Garcia,

T.E.E.N.
Miss Shelley Underbrink,
a member of St. Gertrude’s
Parish in Kingsville, was
crowned Miss Corpus Christi
Kim Kennedy Elimabcth Garia
T.E.E.N. in ceremonies Feb. 5
at the Bay front Plaza. Miss
Underbrink, a junior at H.M.
King High School, took the
honor from a Field of 50 Corpus
Christi area contestants. As a
winner of Miss L.E.E.N.,
Teens Encouraging Excellence
Nationally, she received a *500
scholarship and the privilege of
representing the area at the
state finals in Dallas in July.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph B. Underbrink, Miss
Underbrink is parliamentarian
of the C.Y.O. and serves St.
Gertrude’s as a lector.
Spellers
Elizabeth Garza, a student
at St. Martin’s, and Kim
nedy, a student at St. Ger-
trude’s, both in Kingsville, will
vie for the position of Kleberg
County spelling champion
March 5 when they go against
the top students from other
schools in the county. The two
were chosen to represent their
schools in contests held during
Catholic Schools Week.
Miss Garza is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Mario A. Garza
and Miss Kennedy is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Larry Kennedy. Both are fifth
grade students.
Royalty
Anna Rosa Garza and
Florencio Moreno Jr,f both
6- year-old kindergarten
students at St. Martin’s School
in Kingsville, were crowned
Valentine queen and king Feb.
14 at ceremonies held at Texas
A&I University. The two
students represented the class
which collected the most money
in the annual fund-raising
event to benefit the school, The
c mest raised $6,600. with the
kindergarten class collecting
approximately $2,200 in a
variety of events. Miss Garza is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Maria Garza, The king’s
parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Florencio Moreno Sr..
