minister of Cuero Church of
Originally from England,
Jenkinson joined the local church
on July 1.

Studies in Monroe, La.
Upon graduation he accepted
the position of minister at the
Cuero Church of Christ.
He and his wife, Pamela, have
two children, Rebecca, age 13;
and Kelly, age 10.
Jenkinson said he is enjoying
living in Cuero and notes the peo-
ple have been very friendly and

Members of St. John’s
Lutheran Church of Lindenau
celebrated the 85th anniversary
of their church on August 9. Ap-
proximately 150 people attended
the celebration with a morning
service conducted by Rev. Keith
Fox, Director of Personnel for
the Southern District; and a
special anniversary service was
conducted in the afternoon with
Rev. Johnny Kueker of
Buckholts, delivering the sermon.
Pastor Kueker, the only son of
the congregation, was ordained
at the Lindenau church in 1965.
A noon meal was served and
refreshments were enjoyed after
the afternoon service.
Special guests were former
pastors of the church. Those at-
tending were Pastor Mueller of
La Grange, Pastor Louis F.
Balderach of Poth, Pastor
Harvey A. Bongers of Rosenberg
and Pastor Arnold K. Windecker
of Canyon Lake.
Former pastors who could not
attend the meeting sent greetings.
They were Pastor Leo H. Simon
of Taylor, Pastor Harold E.
Fehler of Deanville, Pastor Ervie
E. Braun of Hondo and Pastor
Art Weiss of Round Rock.
Worship services were held at
the Lindenau School until 1913
when the present church building
was built and dedicated. The
original building was remodeled
and rededicated in 1956. Today
the membership includes 61 bap-
