From all the south part of the
state and in much of the north and
northwest there is complaint of
dry weather. In Matagorda coun-
ty many cattle are dying in bog-
holes and this is the case in other
connties. Unless there is rain soon
there will be a tremendous move-
ment of cattle to Oklahoma pas-
tures. This movement has com*
raenced from some of the southwest
cr unties already. So far cattle in
this county are in fair shape, as a
general thing, but not near so as
well off as they usually are at this
season. The dry northers are very
frequent and the one mw on is
warm—warm enongh to make
green leaves carl a little. Gardens
are not doing well. Crops are
doing no grood. A . rain is most
ardently wished for, bnt the pros-
pect now seems not to be very
good.

Nothing uncertain about the
work of Doan’s Kidney Pills in
Cnero. There is plenty of positive
prove of this in the testimony of
citizens. Such evidence should
convince the most skeptical sufferer.
Read the following statement:’
Theodore E. Simon, blacksmith,
living on Stockdale avenue, Cuero,
Texas, says: “My back was so
lame and painful that I could not
stoop or lift. Sharp twinges would
shoot through my loins whenever
I attempted to do any work that
brought a strain on the muscles of
my back. The kidneys were in-
active and I had a frequent desire
to pass the kidney secretions. I
also had dull pains in the top of
my head which kept me in misery.
I had often been told of Doan's
Kidney Pills and at last decided to
try them and procured a
box at the Cnero Drag Co. They
removed the difficulty in a short
time and I am now quite free from
kidney trouble. I highly recom-
mend this splendid remedy to
others afflicted as I was.

Numbering the Houses. '
The Commercial Clnb has ap«
pointed a committee, consisting of
R. A. Nagel and V, J. Grunder to
act with Postmaster Bntler in see-
ing that all the houses are proper-
ly numbered. Quite a lot of people
have ordered numbers lately and it
is thought that they will all be in.
shape in a few weeks.
