Starting next Monday,
March 7, 2011, Harper will
have a new business in
town, Arrowhead Outdoor
Power, LLC. It is located on
at 23381 U.S. Hwy. 290 next
to Dauna’s.
This business is owned by
Ron Frisbee, whose family
moved to Harper a couple
of years ago from Jarrett,
Texas. Jarrett is another
small town about one hour
east of Waco.
Ron’s wife, Nellie, is the
daughter of Charles and
Donene Allen and a descen-
dant of the Rogers family.
They have two sons, Nick
who is in the seventh grade
and Jacob who is a tenth
grader. Ron is also the
Scout Master of the Harper
Boy Scouts, Troop #139.
Arrowhead Outdoor
Power LLC is an authorized
Service Center for Briggs
and Stratton engines. Mr.
Frisbee has worked on
engines for the last twenty
years at the Rental Service
Corporation. He is familiar
with all kinds of small
engines and can order parts
for all brands and make
repairs on all brands as well
as order new engines.
He is selling Fuel Medic
which is an ethanol stabiliz-
er. He recommends this
product highly as it coun-
teracts damage done to the
carburetors by the ethanol
in gasoline.
He would like to thank
Tony Klein at Arrowhead
Bank for his help with
financing, Linda Harper for
her tireless work locating
property for the building
and Jon Cox and his crew
for help with demolition
and salvaging lumber from
the old home on the prop-
erty and for his suggestions
during the construction of
the new building.
As the Frisbees get ready
to open next week, they
have realized that the new
building is an example of
recycle and re-use. “We
salvaged as much lumber as
possible from the old home
and reused it in construct-
ing our building. The
weathered wood used as
trim is from the old house.
The sheet metal in the roof
was seconds from a factory
in Belton. Sinks and fixtures
were from auctions and
garage sales. The cabinets
and shelves also came from
the old house. The windows
were from another old
house outside of Devine.”
.
“Originally, we used old
materials to lower costs,
but in the end, it feels great
to know we kept some
things out of the landfill and
gave them a second life.”
The business opens
Monday. Hours are from
8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday through Saturday.
Welcome to the Frisbees
and Arrowhead Outdoor
Power.
Kudos to the Frisbees for
recycling and reusing and
for turning an old dilapi-
dated building into a new,
thriving business.
