ed his candidacy for mayor of
the growing City ol Point. He
la running on a platform of
fair treatment to everyone,
with no favoritism to anyone,
McFadden Is the grandson of
A. E. (Uncle Ab) Sparks, a
civil war veteran who purchas-
ed Rains County land in 1873
on what Is now Hwy 35 about
half-way between Pnirt and
Emory.
The aspiring candidate Is
vitally interested in the future
of Rains County and predicts
a population of 50,000 people
In the county by 1390.

Dies Suddenly
Funeral services ft* Willie
Nolan Parrish, 65, were held
at 2:30 p, m. ftiday In the
Emery Church uf Cla,,. win.
G, D. Phillips and Robert
Waller officiating.
Burial was in the Turner
Cemcteay undui the direction
of Hood Funeral Home.
Mr. Parrish, highly etteem-
ed citizen, had visited in Em-
ory Wednesday morning and
after his return home had
gone to the home of a neigh-
bor, Mrs. Clarence Jobe,
when he had a fatal heart at-
tack.
He had retired from hla

ago due to ill health.
He was a cattleman and
rancher and had been a mem-
on ot the Ematy Church of
Christ 25 years. Mr. Parrish
wta a native and lifelong resi-
dent of Emery.
Survivors include hit wife,
Mrs. Hazel Parrish of Emory,
two sons, Robert Parrish of
Emory and Ted Parrish of Ter-
rell: one daughter, Mrs. Mary
Sheppard of Emory: and six
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Pete O'Rear,
Samuel O'Rear, Wayland
Douglas, Floyd Greene, Eitle
Willis and Bruce Fuller.

Vernon Fenter and Rev. John-

Funeral Home.
Mr. Fenter died Friday In a
Sherman convalescence home
after a Jong illness.
He was bom the son of Wil-
liam ansi Maisnda Hughes ren-
ts In Arkansas and moved to
Rains County when he was 9.
He was married in Point on
Dec. 3. 191(1.
He war a retiree tai mer ana

Church since childhood.
