Glenn Carol Hixon, 78,
passed away on May 27,
2013.
Graveside services will
be held at 11 a.m. on Thurs-
day, May 30 at Macedonia
Cemetery with a Memorial
Service following at 2 p.m.
at First Baptist Church of
Bangs, Texas with Dr. Pepper
Dill and Rev. Shannon Bond,
officiating. In lieu of flowers,
memorials may be made to
Lake Brownwood Christian
Retreat, 9030 Retreat Road,
Brownood, Tx. 76801.
Glenn was born October
15, 1934 in Electra, Texas
to Roy and Alverda Hixon.
He graduated from Electra
High School in 1953 where
he was an All-District Foot-
ball player. He attended TCU
on a full football scholarship
and graduated from there in
1957. He was a member of
the 1956 and 1957 Southwest
Conference Championship
team that played in the Cot-
ton Bowl. He married Janice
lambert Hixon on August 31,
1957 in Bownwood, Texas.
He served in the US Army’s
4th Armored Division and
was stationed in Heilbronn,
Germany where he and Jan-
ice lived the first year of their
marriage.
He was a teacher, foot-
ball coach and high school
administrator in Midland,
Texas for 28 years. In 1987
he retired and moved to Lake
Brownwood where he resid-

dren Justin and wife Tessa of
Edmond Ok; Cody Hixon and
wife Amy of Stillwater, Ok;
Clint and Connor Hixon of
Midland, Merrit Vosburg and
husband Luke of San Angelo;
Ben, Noah, Jaylynn, Allie
and Bentley Hixon of Polok-
wane, South Africa; and three
great-grandchildren, Elisha,
Kennedy and Ryder Vosburg
of San Angelo; two sisters,
Jan Carpenter and husband
Steve of Flower Mound and
Delores Prater o fAtoka, Ok.
He was preceded in death by
his parents, Roy and Alver-
da Hixon; sister, Genevieve
Trimmier; brother, Kenneth
Hixon and daughter-in-law
Jill Hixon.

Wade N. Bailey
Wade Nelson Bailey,
age 94, died Friday, May 24,
2013.
He passed away after sur-
gery from a fractured hip, de-
veloping complications dur-
ing rehabilitation.
Memorial services were
held Monday afternoon at 2
p.m. at Royal Estates of San
Angelo, with Bro. Bobby
Roger of Calvary Baptist
Church of San Angelo offici-
ating. Burial was in the city of
Levelland, Texas where Wade
was born on May 26, 1918
and grew up.
Wade was a WWII veter-
an and returned to go to Texas
A&M majoring in agricul-
ture and ranching. Wade was
alongtime resident of Electra
and the head of the Agricul-
ture Dept, for over three de-
cades and helped develop the
FFA program in the Electra
Independent School System
where he often spoke of hav-
ing taught three generations
of students from the same
families. He based his pro-
gram on leadership, coopera-
tion, and citizenship. He was

awarded many honors during
his yeaers of teaching, includ-
ing an All-American Farmer
Award and Electra’s Educator
of the Year as well as having
published many published ar-
ticles in soil and water conser-
vation and the history of the
forest. He was well loved and
respected by his students and
the Electra Community.
He is survived by his wife
of many years, Lucy Pol-
icy Bailey, a son, Roger of
Arizona and his three grand-
children, Bo Bailey of Wich-
ita Falls, Christina Coffel of
Oklahoma City and Melissa
Kraus of Olathe, Kansas.

I 2013. His life was celebrated May 18th at the family
Lynn was a rodeo enthusiast and participant
bringing home many trophies. He will be forever missed.
