Camp Fire USA’s Candy
Sale is in full-swing.
For several years Camp
Fire has been sending cases
of candy to troops in Afghani-
stan.
There are 15 boxes
in a case which is $75.00
each."Please purchase from
a youth member or call or
stop by the Camp Fire office
at 2414 Ninth Street for more
information” said Executive
Director Bettye Ricks.
Proceeds from the Candy
Sale support a full range of
programs and services for
youth, but Camp Fire’s Candy
Sale does much more than
raise funds for the organiza-
tion. The Candy Sale serves
as an important recruiting and
public relations tool for local
councils, and teaches youth
responsibility, goal-setting,
and financial management.
"Businesses and indi-
viduals in the community
understand what the Camp
Fire Candy Sale means to our
council and to our youth sell-
ers,” said Bettye Ricks, ex-
ecutive director. "When you
buy Camp Fire candy, you’re
helping support your commu-
nity, you’re showing youth
that you care about their is-
sues. And, of course, our can-
dy is delicious.
From the Almond Cara-
mel Clusters, Camp Fire has
become famous for, to the
Camp Fire creamy smooth
Mint Patties, delicious Al-
mond Roca, Crunchy P-Nut-
tles and Trail Mix. There’s a
treat to tempt every taste bud.
Camp Fire products sell
for $5.00 a box. The Candy
Sale began Thursday, Janu-
ary 19 and continues through
Sunday, February 12.
You can order your camp
Fire candy by calling the
Camp Fire office at 322-5209.
Be on the lookout for
youth sellers in your neigh-
borhood. Local camp fire
members will be going door
to door in Electra.
