The Community Calendar and
Announcement sections are for non-
profit organizations such as churches,
schools, and benefits helping families

be the final meeting in preparation for

Let's Talk Books
Let's Talk Books, the book club of the
County-City Library, will meet Tuesday,
Jan. 8 at noon in the meeting room. The
book selection is Walking Across Egypt
by Clyde Edgerton. Sack lunches will

Aglow International Sweetwater
Community Lighthouse will have wor-
ship and testimony on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at
7 p.m. at Holiday Inn Express. The guest

Adult Literacy/ESL
The Adult Literacy/ESL class will meet
at 10 am. on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the
County-City Library. Instructors will help
you learn to read, improve your reading

2013 Little League Baseball
The 2013 Little League Baseball sea-
son is about to kick off. There will be a
meeting coming up on Wednesday, Jan.
9 at 8:15 p.m. at Midwest Finances. This
meeting is for all board members, parents
and all that might be interested in coach-
ing. We will be going over some league
rules, coach's responsibilities, sign-up
dates, and begin scheduling field work
days. If you have any questions, feel free

Story Hour for parents and their chil-
dren will be at 10:45 am. on Thursday,

SHS Fall Sports Banquet
Sweetwater High School will honor its
2012 fall sports athletes with a banquet
Thursday, Jan. 10 starting at 6 p.m. at the
Nolan County Coliseum annex. Athletes
in football, cross country and volleyball
will be recognized for their hard work
and dedication. Also, Sweetwater's cheer-
eaders and trainers will be introduced
and thanked for their support. A high-
light video recapping the season will be
shown, and the Mustang Booster Club
will have a silent auction during the ban-
quet to support the athletes. Tickets are
available until Monday, Jan. 7 at 4 p.m.
at the high school fieldhouse, and will
not be sold at the door. Those who would
I ike to sponsor an athlete but can't attend
the banquet may send money to the high
school or drop it off at the fieldhouse

Trees available through
Nolan County SWCD
The Nolan County Soil and Water
Conservation District is offering low-cost
Afghan Pine seedlings and wildlife packets
for spring planting. These trees can be used
to establish windbreaks and for protective
screens. They will betaking orders through
Feb. 1, 2013. There is a limited supply so
place your order soon. For more informa-
tion on ordering these seedlings, contact
the Nolan County SWCD at 325-235-4485

Wood/Smith Account
A benefit account has been set up for
Teresa Wood and Mark Smith at First

The two are rebuilding their home after a
fire in early November.

been prescribed due to a brain tumor. The

Chapman Account
James Chapman, known as Tim to
friends and associates, was in a bike wreck
on April 12, 2012. Hesuffered ahead injury
and was in surgery for seven hours. Due to
this injury, he lost his job and is in need of
financial help. Chapman also lost his home
in November 2011 to a fire. An account
has been set up at Texas National Bank for
Chapman to help with medical bills and
travel expenses to and from Abilene. The

Darrell Campbell Account

Snyder Police Corporal Darrell Campbell
was injured in the line of duty. He is a for-
mer Sweetwater police officer.
Men's Downtown Bible Class
Every Sunday, at 9 a.m., the Men's
Downtown Bible Class will meet at the
Masonic Lodge. An invitation is extended
to all men to come and enjoy coffee, donuts
and worship before church. The Masonic
