Johnson to Hold First SEDC Meeting

The Seminole Economic
Development Corporation
(SEDC) will hold a regular
meeting 4 p.m. Monday, Sept.
18 at the SEDC office located at
111 NE 3rd. '
The meeting will be Donna
Johnson's first regular meeting
as the new SEDC executive
director.
On the agenda will be a
public forum to hear comments
and concerns, the approval of
minutes from previous meeting
and the approval of financial
reports.

report will be heard as well as

Seminole Chamber of
Commerce presents Gaines
County's biggest bash taking
place the third Thursday in
September, as usual.
Local leaders urge all
citizens to attend the events and
show their appreciation to the
county’s two largest indutries.
Booths will be open in the
Gaines County Civic Building at
8:30 a.m. and remain open until
3 p.m..
Demonstration tables will be
set up in the MS Doss City Park,
just south of the civic building.
These stations will teach
about different types of
agriculture and oil production,
and the different uses and by-
products of each industry.
Those who attend the
booths will be able to sign
up for many chances at door
prizes, and view services and
products supporting these two
vital industries.
Beginning at
approximately 11:30 a.m.,
a meal produced in Gaines
County will be served at a
$5.00 fee, and the program
honoring top producers in
various oil and agriculture
fields will begin.
The program wraps up
with the traditional Chinese
Auction of the first bale of
cotton produced and ginned
in Gaines County.
This year, first bale honors
went to Peter Neustaeter, Jr.
The bale was brought
in August 18, weighing 461
pounds, ginned by Oasis Gin.
The bale will be on display
in the First United Bank lobby
until Sept. 21.
Anyone planning to have a
booth at Ag & Oil Day should
have already turned in their
registration form, however, late
forms may still be faxed to the
chamber office at 758-6698.
If you did not receive a
registration form in the mail,
please call the chamber office at
758-2352 as soon as possible.
Booth setup can begin
the day before the event, and
the booths should be manned
and ready to open to the public

Appraisal District Receives Rave
Reviews During Recent Audit Report
The Gaines County Appraisal
District met Wednesday,
September 13 in the Conference

District office located at 302 S.E.

presented an audit report giving
the Appraisal District employees
rave reviews.
The district is doing an
excellent job and all employees
should be commended, per
their report

financial and collection reports
and the review of policies.

Health Care Center, Memorial
Place Assisted Living Center,
Memorial Home Health,
Memorial Hospice, Seminole
Family Medical Clinics and
Women's Health Clinic.
Consideration for approval
will be given for the tax rate to
support the 2006-07 budget

On the medical staff report

held concerning the Quality
Assurance Report.
