tives and friends. The bride
threw her bouquet among the
guests and it was caught by Miss
Blanche Whitenack, who present-
ed it to the bride’s mother.
The huge two-tier wedding cake
was cut and the guests were serv-
ed with cake and cream.
Mr. and Mrs. Cooke left at 8:30
for Fort Worth and Sherman.
They will reside in Fort Worth
where the groom has a splendid
office position. Their many friends
wish them much happiness.
Among those from out of town
were Mr. and Mrs. Pat Pittman of
Ward is the gue^t of her friends
on College Heights and has been
enjoying a number of social cour-
tesies wffile in the city. Those
who attended the party given by
Mrs. Funkhouser were Mmes. S.
F. Davis, J. L. Riley, Neal Gear-
reald, E. L. Reed, T. L. Davis, J.
S. Ward, of New York; the hos-
tess and little Miss Mattye Belle
Ward. Refreshments of punch
and cake and iced watermelon
were served to the guests.. Con-
versation was the main feature
of entertainment. Mrs. Ward and
little daughter will join Mr. Ward
soon for a trip to Alabama. Mr.
Ward was formerly professor -of
foreign languages in Tarleton Col-
lege. They have a home here, but
Mr. Ward has been studying in
New York for several years. Mrs.
Ward was, before her marriage,
Miss Lillian Kiber, who was
teacher of home economics in
John Tarleton College, which po-
sition she held for two years.
