the other Future Homemakers of
Texas In collecting Christmas
cards to send to the mentally ill
patients in the hospital at Aus-
tin .And the other one is that
each Future Homemaker is to con-
tribute a dime to the World Chris-
tmas Festival. .
This week has been designated
as National Future Homemakers’
Week. Sunday each girl was to at-
tend the church of her choice,
Monday, the Future Homemakers
had a regular meeting. Tuesday,
a beautifully decorated box was
placed in the hall to hold the
Christmas cards which are donat-
ed. At the National Convention
held at Columbus, Ohio, in July,
the Future Homemakers adopted
a jacket. This attractive, red, pop-
lin jacket was also displayed, and
the girls’ interest was greatly
aroused.

RANK AND FILE
By Jnd Brown
Boy* and girl* with
lunches, instruments and a spark-
ling spirit boarded the G. H. S.
school buses to journey to Nocona
for the Steers first conference
game of the season.
For the half-time band show,
the band marched down the field
doing silent commands to the mu-
sic of “Eyes on the Steers”. When
we reached the give-yard line, we
made a long lipe, which was sup-
posed to be straight, but in spite
of our efforts, it resembled a snake.
We marched in the line down
the field and each rank dropped
off at different yard lines. We
then marched to the center of the
field and got back in formation.
From this position wo mPrchsd
into the formation of a pumpkin.
While in the formation the twil-
era did a special to the music of
“That’s A Plenty”. We marched
off the field with “Eyes on the
Steers”.
The band has had a very busy
week preparing for the Homecom-
ing show. Instead of the usual
sixty band members, we plan to
have one-hundred and forty-four
bandsmen participating in the half-
time activity.
No matter how tired we are4'
after the game on Friday night,
we have to rise bright and early
Saturday morning to attend the
Midwestern Homecoming at Wich-
ita Falla. We have attended the
homecoming In the past years and
it is always enjoyed by the group.
We plan to join many other
bands in the parade through the
downtown area is Wichita.
