MEXICANS? LEAVING NEW YORK-
New York, April 24.—Scores of
non-English-speaking Mexicans in
New York, according to Manuel A.
Esteva, Mexican consul general here,
are seeking transportation to the
West Indies and to Europe. Consul
Esteva declared it was impossible to
convince these people that their fears
•of arrest and assassination as a result
of the Mexican hostilities were
groundless. Many visit the consulate
daily and insist they will be attacked
in the streets of the city if war is de-
clared. The well-educated Mexican
residents of the city, he said, of
course, have no such fears.

LITTLE SON OF J. T. GROO,
BADLY B
While playing with some playmates
this morning the 10-year-old 'Son of
J. T. Grooms of the Goodman-Floyd
Furniture Co., was badly -named.
The boys had a closed can of v.
a- fire which generated steam «.%
ploded, throwing boiling water on the
Grooms child, badly burning his
arms, legs and abdomen. Dr. Patiffb
