r THE AMENDMENT- AN ISSUE
(Prom the Waco Tribune.)
H When Texas voters go to the
ballot box on Tuesday, November
they will find on the ballot an
-issue or proposal fully as import-
ant, as appealing,as that involved
|£ki the choice for president of the
^United States. It is assumed
l&at in the decision as to a presi-
dent there is more or less of politi-
cal, even of partisan, feeling.
pKTe know men who, right now,
|ire really cohcerned lest Wood-
ppw Wilson shall not stay four
more years in the White House—
Khey yearn to have him at the
Hfebn of State for another term.
pLOd, to tell the truth, we do, too,'
||b<1 we hope to see a mighty host
» the doubtful States of voters
f*o impressed. It is the doubtful
Hjjlrtea that must decide. But the
Ksoe or proposal of the coming
Ballot that is in mind now has
HKtratifying feature of being
■Mpntially nonpartisan. It ap
Beals to men of all parties and
mltical beliefs with equal force,

Umt all who reside in Texas, well
understands that we are speak- y

pent to be voted on at the No-
jMgiber election, commonly des-

It will furnish opportunity, by t

It is to be kept in mind that
ratification does not mean gener-
al increase of taxation. The coun-
ty or school district with adequate
revenue, at existing rates,O to
carry on its work in effecnve
manner will not be affected. The
measure simply proposes to place
needed facilities in the hands of
communities that can not, under
existing laws, place their schools
on the desired basis of equipment
and maintenance. There are
hundreds of communities thus
handicapped by present condi-
tions. They have the means and
are desirous to provide adequate-
ly for their schools, but are re-

For over twenty years I suffered
terribly from rheumatic pairs
My joints were stiff and lame and
my limbs were swollen. My kid-

Ine kidney secretions were scan

I felt little relief. Doan's Kid-
