Give Local Paper Credit.
The Waxahachie Light sug-
gests that after you have finished
recounting the short-comings of
your local paper, that you then
sit down and give it credit for
the good it has accomplished in
your community. The Light
knew that any reasonable man or
woman who will follow the sug-
gestion will find that the home
paper has helped schools and
colleges, has given countless
columns in the cause of religious
enterprises, has boosted every
good enterprise, has been cliarit-*
able towards those who have
made mistakes, and praised those
who attained sucoess or distinc-
tion. The local newspaper is
never perfect because the people
who are at the head of it are
human and it is generally ac-
cepted that all humanty is liable
to err at times. The local news-
paper is not as big nor yet as
powerful as the big city papers—
but in its sphere it has no com-
petition. It tells the local hap-
penings, rejoices with its home
people in their success and pros-
perity, and sympathizes with
them in their failures and mis-
fortunes. It brings each day a
message of good cheer, encourag-
ing those who are discouraged,
cheering those who feel ready to
give up the fight, giving fresh
courage to those who think liv-
ing hardly worth the effort. A
newspaper, a loyal home news-
paper, is an institution that
ought to be prized in a commu-
nity above all other enterprises;
it ought to have the baking of a
a united citizenship-^ ft oughtTo
receive help instead of hits, praise
instead of blames. In other
words, do your part by the news-
paper and you will find the news-
paper going more than half way
to return the favor. Stand by
your local newspaper.—Brown-
wood Bulletin.

Townsen & Lamb.
The San Antonio Express is
eminently correct when it says
that “if there is any booster that
excels the Texas newspaper we
have not heard of it.” The news-
paper delights to boost—is al-
ways glad of an opportunity to
say a good word for its home*
county, home town or any enter
prise in the county or town. The
newspaper likes for its town to
excel other towns, likes to see its
town assume city airs, to be pros-
perous, and in order] to bring
about this condition^ is always
ready to lend a helping hand. A
newspaper that does not boost for
the town in which it is located is
an oddity.—Brownwood Bulletin.
Stubborn Case
I was under the treatment of two doctors,” writes
Mrs. R. L. Phillips, of Indian Valley, Va., “and they pro-
nounced my case a very stubborn one, of womanly weak-
ness. I was not able to sit up, when I commenced to
take Cardui.
I used it about one week, before I saw much change.
Now, the severe pain, that had been in my side for years,
has gone, and I don’t suffer at all. I am feeling better than
in a long time, and cannot speak too highly of Cardui.”
