Foods received a bomb
threat from an unknown
caller. The Center Police

Center Crime Stoppers offering
reward for information regarding
Ray Jones Chevrolet Theft
Center Police Department is seeking information in
regards to a theft that occurred at Ray Jones Chevro-
let and Wright Dodge. Sometime between the hours
of 5:00pm on 08-05-2016 and 9:00pm on 08-05-2016
unidentified suspect(s) entered the Ray Jones Chev-
rolet and Wright Dodge car lots. The unidentified
suspects took two white tailgates from new trucks at
Ray Jones Chevrolet and three sets of wheel simula-
tors from Wright Dodge. The Center Police Depart-
ment Detective Division is asking for the public to be
on the lookout for these thieves and report any infor-
mation in regard to this case. Center Crime Stoppers
is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for informa-
tion that leads to the arrest of these suspects. Anyone
who has information regarding this crimes should call
(936) 598-SAFE (7233) or submit a web tip online at
www.centercrimestoppers.com . Tipsters don’t have
to give their names. All calls and cash rewards are
completely anonymous. However rewards will only
be paid on tips submitted through the Center Crime
Center High School Saddle Up 2016!

Center City Council
names two zoning boards
The Center City Council met at 5 p.m. on Monday,
August 8, 2016 and approved Ward Herndon to the
Planning & Zoning Commission, and Casey Williams
to the Zoning Board of Adjustments.
In other business, the following action items were approved:
Resolution 2016-21 - Application of the NIBRS Grant.
Resolution 2016-22 - Maximum tax rate for consid-
eration in Fiscal Year 17 Budget. The rate is calcu-
lated this year at $0.5519/$ 100, not to exceed a rate
Resolution 2016-23 - Authorization of Prior Year
NPE Funding. The FAA funding mechanism for non-
commercial airports is through dedicated non-primary
entitlement (NPE) funding on an annualized basis.
For Center Municipal Airport, this is $150,000 of an-
James Guest, of Linebarger, Goggan, Blair & Samp-
son was present and provided to the Center City
Council a brief overview of the services the firm pro-
vides the taxing entities of the County for collection
of delinquent tax accounts.
