of tho unfortunate diver Andrew Wilson
whoso suffocation whilo exploring tho hull
of the steamboat Lamarsunk in the Trinity
river was mentioned in yesterdays
Gazette was recovered today and reached
this city at 1043 tonight The body was
badly decomposed and was at once
removed to an undertaking es-
tablishment and prepared for interment
Wilson had become entangled in the wreck
ago of the Lamar and could not free him-
self and the air tube becoming clogced ho
suffocated His wife and family are dis-
tracted with their sudden bereavement

Stock Centers

R Moore of Fort Worth had two cars
cattle on the St Louis market Tuesday
They were shipped from Paris Tex
Stock shipments at San Angelo have
fairly opened It is said orders for 70000
head of cattle havo been placed with the
local agent of tho Santa Fe road at that
point with many more thousands to fol-
low Most of tho cattle will be shipped to
tho Territory
L J Polk general freight agent of the
Aransas Pass says that a few cattle ship-
ments aro now being made and that the
general movement will not open up until
April 1 Mr Polk estimates that tho total
movement of cattle from Southwest Texas
this coming season will reach from 150000
to 200000 head including the shipments to
Indian Territory and the markets It will
require about 7000 cars to handle tho stock
James F Thayer of Lincoln Neb is on
the Fort Worth market for cattle Ho re-
ports good feeders as being scarce in Ne-
braska and Eastern Missouri
T C Andrews of the wellknown firm of
Andrews Graham made a trip to Dallas
yesterday where he has a cattle deal on
the tapis
Fred Hosbrough of the Espuela land and
cattle company still lingers in this city
where he has been since the convention
Business is the attraction which holds him
Brooks Davis of the Home land and cat-
tle company was in the city yesterday He
will make a trip up the Denver today
M Campbell a Montana stockman is in
the city having just returned from a trip
up the Denver Ho reports tho weather
as being much less severe in that section

of the Santa Fe telegraphed up to Purcel
yesterday fo information about the condiI
tion of livestock in tho Territory and tho
extent of the damage and loss caused by
the recent storm W E M Axson the
agent at Purcell replied as follows Cat-
tlemen here expect no serious results from
present storm Couplo days of pretty
rough weather but clear and pleasant to-
day Stock are arriving here and aro in
fairly good condition
Mr Edwards Sr of the livestock firm
of Edwards Bros of Terrell Tex who
came in with a car of hogs from tho Terri-
tory yesterday reports tho weather as be-
ing very severe on stock and thinks tho
loss will be largo
The Fort Worth packing company yester-
day shipped 5000 pounds of dry salt bacon
and 5000 pounds of short clear sides to De-
catur also two cars of mixed meats to dif-
ferent points in tho state
The recent storm seem to have put a
stop to stock shipments for a time Only
one car of cattle arrived at tho Union
stockyards yesterday outside of local ship-
ments it boing consigned by Edwards
