Mrs. O. J. Cooper, Mrs. Russ
Ward, attended their sister, Mrs.
Rhea Vernon of Paris, while she
was hospitalized at Clarksville for
medical treatment. Mrs. Vernon
was dismissed Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Dodd of
Johntown, accompanied their son,
\3e Danny Dodd to Love Field,
Dallas, Tuesday, where he board-
ed a plane for Travis AFB, Calif.,
after a leave with relatives here.
Mrs. Bessie Blankenship has
been hospitalized at Clarksville
since breaking her hip in a fall at
her home Saturday morning. The
broken bone was pinned Monday
and she is reported recuperating.
Mr. and Mrs. H. W. McCrury of
Odessa, and daughter, Mrs. Eddie
Thomas and twins, Jessica and
Jennifer, have been visiting Mr.
and Mrs. Tient McCrury. H. W.
is going to Port Harcourt, Nigeria,
in West Africa, where he will be
employed by Loffland Bros. Drill-
ing Co.
Mrs. E. C. Maenner and sons,
Lanny and Darry, Dennis and Rod-
ney Pettit of Dallas, visited Mrs.
Hattie Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Pettit during week end. Mr. and
Mrs. T. E. Low of Post Oak, were
Sunday afternoon visitors in the
Butler home and with Mrs. Fannie
Clark.

is spending this week with her mo-
ther, Mrs. Dessie Bratton. Other

he will be stationed with the U.

turned to the hospital from which

The body of Mrs. Anna McGloth-
lin, 84, of Rt. 1, Grand Prairie, who
died in Red River County Hospital
at Clarksville Tuesday, was trans-
ferred to Chism & Smith Funeral
Home of Irving for services.

Thursday afternoon at 2 p. m. at
Shady Grove Baptist Church with
llcv. Cecil Meadows officiating. In-
terment following in Shady Grove
cemetery.
Survivors are four sons, Charlie

McGlothlin of Talco and Olin Mc-
Glothlin and Warren McGlothlin
of San Antqnio; two daughters,
Mrs. Gladys Cole of Pomona^ Cgtlif
and Mrs. Mildred Halvek of An-
nona; three sisters, Mrs. Dora
Kimball and Mrs. O. F. Fann of
Irving, and Mrs. P. H. Guy of Dal-
las; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-
grandchildren

Lady Is Dead
Jacob Henry Brown, 73, a farm-
er of Kanawha, on Rt. 2, Detroit,
died of illness Wednesday in Park-
land Hospital, Dallas. He was born
In Lamar County, Oct. 9, 1893, son
of Denny Lewis Brown and his
wife, Mary L. Brown.
The funeral was Saturday at 10
a. m. at Paris with Rev. Alfred
Butler of Detroit, officiating. In-
terment was in Evergreen Ceme-
tery.
Surviving are his wife, the for-
mer Alpha Lee Sturdivant, whom
he married March 14, 1947; six
children: Billy Charles Brown and
Mrs. Jesse J. Bolton, Dallas; J. D.
Brown, Rosenbrug; J. C. Brown,
Clarksville, Tenn.; A. J. Brown,
New Bedford, Mass., and Mrs. Gor-
don Alsobrook, Deport.
Seventeen other descendants, and
two brothers, Ed Brown of West
Texas, and Leslie Brown of Direct.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Freeman and
Doug of Duncanville, Mr. and Mrs.
Jim Kunkel of Arlington, Mr. and
Mrs. Hoyt Taylor and children of
Talco, Mr. and Mrs. Hobert Bell
of Rosalie, Mr. and Mrs. Buddy
Damron and children were Sunuay

Damron.
Student Of Month
Susan Gage, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Blanton Gage, was se-
lected as Student of the Month for
January. Susan is Secretary of
the junior class, the Student Coun-
cil, and general secretary of the
Northeast Texas Association of
Students Councils. She was
cheerleader for the Rebel teams.
Susan holds a Junior Homemaking
degree and is 3rd vice-president of
the FHA. She is also a member
of the National Honor Society.

hospitalized at the base hospital

of Dallas.
Buddy Stringfellow, after a 30
day Navy leave with relatives
here has left for San Diego, Calif.,
and three weeks in a survival
school before going to Vietnam.
Mrs. Stringfellow and children will
remain in Bogata with the service-
man’s mother, Mrs. Dixie Rector.
Mmes. Willie Jeffus, Vannie
Seaman, Alvin Wood and Miss Jo-
die Craddock were in Winnsboro,
Tuesday to visit their aunt, Mrs.
J. W. Craddock, seriously ill in the
hospital. They also visited Mrs.
Henry, mother of Mrs. Tom Wat-
ers of Bogata.
Charles Boren
Buried Monday
Funeral services were held Mon-
day at 10 a. m. for Charles Boren,
82, of Brookston, who died Friday
at 7:10 p. m. in St. Joseph’s Hos-
pital, where he was admitted a
few hours earlier.
He is survived by eight chil-
dren, a brother, Elbert Boren of
Clardy, a half-brother and two
half-sisters, Tom Boren and Mrs.
Hallie Williams of Paris and Mrs.
Gladys Stone of Clardy. '
