STATIONED IN GERMANY

was assigned to the 38th Trans-
portation Battalion in Germany
in January. Brawn i- a wire-
man in the Battalion headquar-
ters detachment near Worms. He
entered the Army in August 1963,
completed basic combat training
at Fort Polk. La.
The 23 year old soldier is a 1959
graduate of Talco High School
and attended Paris' Junior Col-
lege. He is the grandson of Mrs.
Claudia Lowry of Rosalie, and
Alfred Brown of Bogata. Mrs.
Ffennie Brown of Bogata, is his
great-grandmother.

Members of WSCS met Monday
at the church for fourth session
of study on Christian Perfection
with Mrs. John Streun directing
Mrs. Stella Davidson gave the
devotional, and an article, “Learn
tm Love Others If You Want to
Uve.” Rev. Streun offered pray-
er and spoke on ministry of John
Wesley. He also led a gcoup dis-
cussion on Christian Perfection
Miss Mary Lassiter gave outlines
of the John Wesley sermons. The
meeting closed with benediction
repeated in unison.

Mrs. Bud Mauldin was surpris-
ed with a dinner at her home
Wednesday in honor of her 72nd
birthday. She enjoyed the meal
