GEOGRAPHY OF DENTON COUNTY
The county as a whole has very fertile soil, and
there is little non-agricultural land within the borders
of the county. Possibly the explanation for so many
different kinds of soil is the transitional location of the
county relative to the major physical divisions of the
state; the transitional location relative to the humid and
arid parts of Texas; and the comparatively young age
