LAUNCH FINANCE DRIVE
Kick-off day for the League Finance
Drive is to be TJed., Feb. 20, it 7as ani
nounced by the co-chairmen, Mrs. Jason Ho-
ward and Mrs. Lee Parker.
The League does not make a general
appeal for funds, but only requests support
from a group of responsible citizens rTho
contributed to the IJV in the past or in-
dicated interest in its program.
Fund-raisers A.ill launch their drive
at 9 ae m. on Wed., Feb. 20, When they
rAll gather at the Parker home, 1106 Bol-
ivar, for "coffee, doughnuts and last rin-
ute instructions," according to Mrs. Park-

vided in the nursery of St. Paul Intlheran
Church, 703 N. Elm, during the day.
A letter to all contributors iUll be
mailed Feb. 13, explaining the needs of
the IWV and preparing them for the calls
of members on Feb. 20.
At the time of the personal visit,

lications, rich rill be distributed to
persons wanting them.

Nominations may be made from the
floor at the time of the annual meeting,
providing the person nominated has f an:

required in this instance.
The reason a single slate is cust-
omary in the I7V is that candidates do rriz
run on a platform or a program. These ar3
determined by the membership. The board
is obligated to carry out the program
and policies set by the membership.
In order to maintain the LTV non-
partisan method of operation, the members
of any League boa d do not engage in any
partisan political activity during their
term of League leadership
