Bodine begging for bood

Pledges in the "Pulling for
Plasma" campaign are falling
behind in their giving according
to Gary Bodine coordinator of
the blood drive.
The campaign began on Sept.
15 and the initial response was
tremendous with 73 pints given
that week. Interest seems to
have dwindled though with a
total of 1S2 pints as of this
Monday.
Tho purpose of the blood
drive is to raise money for
Christian Homes of Abilene and
to aid Hendrick Memorial
Hospital in their blood shortage.
For every pint of blood given to
the hospital $10 will be
deducted from Christian Home's
hospital bill.

Hendrick Memorial's blood
bank can take SO or 60 pints a
week and all eligible students are
encouraged to give a pint this
semester. Pledge masters of
organizations are responsible for
seeing that their group gives the
blood it pledged and donors
should sign the list for their
particular organization at the
blood bank.
Bodine stated "I really
believe the students have good
intentions but they have pro-
crastinated or maybe there's a
lack of understanding.
There is a poster up in the
ticket booth of the student
center showing the number of
pints given and guidelines for
giving blood. In general the
.guidelines are to give as soon as

In three to four weeks KACC
be heard on the lower level of
the Campus Center. Tills was
approved last summer by Dr.
John C Stevens president of
ACC and Dub Winkles super-
visor of the Campus Center.
Last year the communications
department spoke to Stevens
about airing it in the Campus
Center. Stevens said that if they
would present a proposal he
would consider the addition.
The details arc now being
