During the past week the ACC
Wildcats continued their losing
way by dropping two encounters
one to the Austin College Kang-
aroos and the other to Wayland
College's Pioneers. These losses
even the 'Cats' season record at
88 and meant the fifth loss for
them In their last six starts.
McCall McLood High Mon
In the first game the 'Cats used
a zone defense for only the second
time this year and It kept the
Kangroos in check until midway
in the last half when n sudden
rash of goals gave the Austin Col-
lego bunch a ten-point lead that
drew the Wildcats out into a man-for-man
and finally Into a full-
court press but to no avail. In the
60-50 contest Jack McCall and
freshman Robert McLeod were

tied for Wildcat scoring honors
with eleven points each while
Austin's high men were 5' 10" Bob
Landolt and 5' 9" Ray Smith who
canned 21 and '17 points respec-
tively. Hit 42 at Plalnvlow
Although the Wildcats hit 42
per cent of their shots at Plain-
view Monday night against Way-
land the Pioneers came back from
a 40-37 half-time deficit by using
a "spread" type offense to down
the Wildcats 68-58. Perhaps tho
fact that Wayland hit 60 per cent
of their shots in the second half
also had a bearing on the final
outcome. Guard Al Mcrritt with
14 points and Jack McCall with
12 led the Wildcat scoring.
In future action the Wildcats
have home games both tonight
and tomorrow night as St. Mary's
plays here tonight and Trinity
moves in for a battle on Saturday.
