ThoTrinity cloven had; been gath
ering power as it move's along and
i should J bo: at ..their peak when the

-' them. Starting off slow the .Tigers
didn't attract much attention but
'each gamo has soon an improved
; ..squad coming to their strongest point
last week when tho Kangaroos were
held to a 13-18 'tie. In contrast to
this tho Cowboys havo been slowing
up in Ithoir recont games but should
snap out of it in the Austin College
tilt and bo ready to go after tho
Tigers in the form they displayed
against Tech.
j Coach Barry Bolton has a wealth
I of veteran material in his squad and
' .many of tho men hnvo been in the
last twoW threo encounters with tho
t . . Cowboys. Pettit and Whltaker are
both old tiraors in tho Tiger backfield
I and Bhomo Allen and Roland have
I. been in the forward wall for tho past

. gives her a .500 standing in tho loop
and providing sho gets by Howard
!' ':' Payrio this week-end the Tigers will
put up a mighty fight against tho
Cowboys because of tho titio chances
they will .then have. Tho 9-7 defeat
at tho hands of tho locals two years
"ago put tho Tigers out of tho run-
ning for the championship and they
would bo clad to return the favor
this year.
Cranfill will probably depend on a
strong aerial attack against tho Ti
gers; and use his ull strength in the
lino to Btop their running attack.
With Pittman Smith and Pearce or
Kibble in tho game little will be
gained at tho Cowboys tackles and
Daniels and Jennings can take care
of tho guard positions 'all right with
Pittman backing them up. Bounds
and Mooro at ends mean no long end
runs so tho Trinity attack will also
probably bo in tho air. Sanders

The leaders in the Texas Confer-
once still have the same percentage

Conference was at Sherman where
the Trinity Tigers played tho Aus-
tin College Kangaroos to a 13-13 tic.
Austin College was dopod to win
but ft. seemed that they had not' com-
pletely recovered from .the 23-0 do-

This week's games will see a
change- in tho four way tie for second
place; Simmons meets Austin vCol-
lego and Howard Payno takes on
Trinity. Simmons and Howard .Payne
"aro doped to emerge victorious 'but
the dope has bocn upset before so
no one can tell until after the games
who will win.
St.' Edwards will hold the lead for
another woek for a win by "either
Simmons or Howard Payne will not
be sufficient to raise their percent-
age as high as that held by the
Saints.
St. Edwards' next conference game
will be on November 11 when they
engage in a 'conflict with tho Howard
Payno Yollowjackcts. If tho Brown-
wo6d aggregation wins then Sim
mons can win the conference title
again by boating the Yollowjackcts
on Thanksgiving providing they win
all of their games between now and
then.

conference championship; if not it is
sure to be as .fast and thrilling as
the two games of the past two sea
sons' with the Tigers havo been and
worth anybody's 6.60 to seo it and
at tho same time have tho pleasure
of being on an excursion with over
threo hundred of your school mates
Who can forgot that special to
Brownwood last year. Freshmen
get4n on a good thing by making. tho
special your first year and you will
never miss one. Seniors ita your
last chance. Don't miss it -
The big gamo in Texas this week
end is the encounter between S. M.
U. and A. and M. Both elevens are
unbeaten in tho conference though
tho Aggies were held to a tio by tho
Horned Frogs. This game is likely
to decide the conference champion-
ship in tho Southwestern loop and a
great crowd Is expected at College
Station to see it. The teams aro
rated among the best in the organiza-
tions history and each 'has .a back-
field man that is counted as good as
any the Southwest over produced
Mann of tho Mustangs and Joel Hunt
of tho Aggies. Most of the dope
points .toward an S. Mi U. victory
but It can go any way and should be
a thrilling contest
"
Johnny Gregg and Lcroy Jennings
are two mighty good ends but aro
in as unfortunate positions as two
football men over got especially Lo-
roy. With Doodles Bounds and Red
Mooro on the squad th'o team has an
unusually good pair of wingmen and
Johnny and Lcroy who could be on
tho field for almost any other eleven
in tho state havo to sit on tho side-
line. Lcroy has had this competition
for all his four years but these men
aro through this year so Gregg still
has two years in a more open field.
Anyway the Cowboys havo two un
usually good reserve ends something
that not all teams boast
'
It won't be long now until that
Thanksgiving gamel The Jackets are
improving every day and are point-
ing for the Cowboys. This should
be the classic game of West Texas
this year and .it is time that 'you be-
gin urging yuor friends and ex-students

for it and the Home Coming pro-
gram. Let 'em know there's a big
