WEED-CUTTING CAMPAIGN
. The bountiful spring rains are causing the weeds to spring up
■with unusual vigor on vacant lots and other neglected spots and
the city. A weed-cutting campaign Iwould be # good project for
tame live civic organization to take up and carry to a conclusion
within the next week or two. The co-operation of the city could
doubtless be counted upon and a general clean-up campaign might
be combined with the weed-cutting.

TWO GOOD AMENDMENTS
Two proposed amendments to the State Constitution will be
aubmitted to the voters in a special election on July 16. One of
these amendments has to do with the supreme court and is design-
ed to speed up court action and the other would permit the salary
of the governor to be increased to $10,000 a year,
i Tli? Legislature recently adopted a resolution explaining the
purposes of the two propose amendments and requesting the news-
i papers of the siateto call the matter to the attention of the voters.
The American is glad to co-operate in this respect as it believes
that both amendments should be adoptedr"For the information of
our readers, we quote in full the resolution of the Legislature:

But that is not all 1 Insufficient hot water in the home takes its
loll. Reddened hands—chapped skin—lack of vitality and
enthusiasm of youth—are but a few of the tell-tales of cold water
drudgery, discomforts and inconveniences.
Realize that the most dependable hot water service can now be
installed at a remarkably low price. Consider that this modem
automatic gas-fired system of heating water is more economical
than less efficient methods. Think of the joy, the pleasure and
comfort of steaming hot water in any quantity you need, coming
with the turn of your faucet any time—night—day—winter or
sunjmer! - 0
Certainly, you want this perfect—uninterrupted hot water
service in your home. It means maximum economy and ever-
ready, trouble-free service. .
