EMULSION
Scott’s Emulsion is the
means of life and of the en-
joyment of life of thousands of
men, women and children.
To the men Scott’s Emul-
sion gives the flesh and
strength so necessary for the
cure of consumption and the
repairing of body losses from
any wasting disease.
For women Scott’s Emul-
sion does this and more. It is
a most sustaining food and
tonic for the special trials that
women have to bear.
To children Scott’s Emul-
sion gives food and strength
for growth of flesh and bone
and blood. For pale girls,
for thin and sickly boys Scott’s
Emulsion is a great help.

FROM NEEDMORE.
Ed. Review:—This is the 3rd of
May and the dry winds continue to
blow which makes the nights very
cold and retards the growth of corn,
cotton and garden vegetables. What
little cotton there was up was most
all killed l y the frost, and the farm
ers are very blue indeed, but we will
just have to live in hopes.
Last Saturday was the day set
apart for working the grave yard at
Shiloh and was attended by a very
large crowd and well filled baskets
At 11 o’clock llev. Saudford preach,
ed and in the afternoon the quarterly
conterence met and the grave yard
was nicely decorated.
We had a considerable frost last
Thursday morning. Some say they
saw ice early in the morning.

The following clipping from the
“Welispriog’’ very fitly represents
the condition of many skeptical
Christians as well as people of skep
tical mind The thing we need lo do
is to get ourselves in tune with the
Divine:
A Tuned Rkceivek.
Marconi’s new discovery has aston-
ished two continents. At his little
station on the coast of Newfoundland
he has received wireless telegraphic
messages from Great Britan, across
three thousand miles of ocean which
lies between. His discovesy may
yet supersede all cables, telephones
and ordinary telegraph by wire. It
is the greatest wonder of the new
century—and, like other wonders,
simple enough. His instrument sets
in motion certain waves in that ether
which pervades and surrounds all
tuings. These waves, like the ripples
in a pond, spread in every direction,
and when tbey reach any receiver for
or near tuned to take them, they give
A Sure Thing.
It is said that nothing is sure ex-
cept death and taxes, but that is not
altogether true. Dr. King’s New
Discovery for Consumption is a sure
cure for all lung and throat troubles.
Thousands can testify to that. Mrs.
0. B. VanMetre of Shepherdtown,
W. Va., says, “I had a severe case
of bronchitis and for a year tried
everything I heard of, but got no re-
lief. One bottle of Dr. King’s New
Discovery then cured me absolutely.'
It’s infallible for croup, whooping
cough, grip, pneumonia and Con-
sumption. Try it. It’s guaranteed

Pig—to what y«u „
tneir message to it. A receiver not
tuned to the proper pitch, however,
is useless; the nubtle ether waves
pass it by to give their message else-
where. Thus a hundred messages
may reach a tuned receiver with abso-
lute certainty, while one wrongly
tuned misses them all.
Like all great physical facts in
this world of (Hod’s making, this new
discovery huds an analogy in the
realm of spiritual anti moral fact.
How many souls assert that to them
the voice of God is obscured, and
ins direct message an unknown ex
perience! The Bible is to them an |
unreal record. For how could Moses
and Abraham, David and Paul re-
ceive a direct inspiration? Answers
to prayers they do not believe in.
They have never bail any, nor aoes
such a tiling seem possible to their
minds. Indeed, they proclaim the
impossibility of any direct personal
communications with the Divine Spirit
so loudly and amphatically that many
weak Christians are led to wonder
whether there can be any ellieaey in
prayers, or any absolute knowledge
of God by a human soul.
Does it not nil depend upon the
receiver? The message is there,
whispering through all the univetse.
The soul in tune with the divine
hears it, obeys it, records it. The
untuned soul misses it inevitable—
but does that make it any the less
real and true? The fault is not in
the message_, but iu the receiver
Once in tune, the messages will come
straight aud clear, and keep on com-
mg. “Speak Lord for thy servant
heareth,” prayed the lad Samuel in
that dark time when no prophet had
risen in Israel for many years, and
the word of the Lord came to Samuel
direct and powerful, at once. It had
only been waiting for a soul turned
to hear it. Are our souls in tune
to day for divine messages? If not,
