English and journalism major
from Phoenix Ariz. will serve
as editor of the BRONCO. Miss
Jones was editor W this year's
annual and recipient of the
Journalism Award.
Eric O. Vest junior journalism
major from Abilene will be edi-
tor of the BRAND. Vest served
as assistant editor of the BRAND
during the fall semester. He re-
ceived the Maj. Albert G. Maro-
sher Award for outstanding
leadership abilities demonstrated
in ROTC this year. Vest was
also named a Distinguished Mili-
tary Student during the fall term.
Mrs. Mary Baker junior speech
and business education major
from Tucson Ariz. will resume
her duties as business manager
of student publications for the
1970-71 school year. Mrs. Baker
served as assistant business man-
ager last year and business man-
ager this year.
Sherwyn McNair adviser to
student publications and chair-
man of the Journalism Depart-
ment announced assistant edi-
tors; editor of the Corral H-SU's
literary magazine and assistant
business managers would be
'named in the fall.
Carlene Hammack was Dre-
sented the Minter Medal during
assembly this morning for reach-
ing th6 highest grade point aver-
age for the year. Miss Hammack's
GPA was 97.60 per cent.
Arleigh Smith was awarded
the Alpha Chi Award for ac-
cumulating the highest GPA in
the freshman class. Miss Smith's
GPA is 96.59. The Julius Olsen
Chapter of Alpha Chi annually
awards a dictionary to the fresh-
man man or woman with the
highest GPA.
