ROTC Offers
Wilderness Skills
By PHIL HAMILTON
Staff Writer
The ROTC Military Science depart-
ment is adding a new course in Wilder-
ness Skills. Major Borman is scheduled
to teach the new class.
The course will teach survival tech-
niques and other associated skills. Sim-
ilar courses have been offered in the
past but this course will be a course de-
signed for those interested in knowing
more about the wilderness and living in
it.
The course will be a combined effort
between the Physical Education depart-
ment and the Military Science Depart-
ment. It will be an important course for
both members of ROTC and Physical
Education majors. According to Capt.
Price the program was planned because
many physical education- related jobs-
now demand a knowledge of wilderness
skills. He cited church recreation direc-
tors working in camps as just one area
where the skills are needed by P.E. majors.
