To make the stripes down the trouser legs, the inside of grapefruit peel was scraped and shaped by pinking shears. The handsome sarape was made of strips of many fruits and vegetables to get the many colors and the fringe was of a hearty grass. Few men modeled so his costume was wildly applauded.
