Denton City-County Library Bookmobile

Description: Unidentified men stand in front of a Denton City-County Public Library bookmobile. Denton Public School buses are in the background. The picture was taken across from Congress Junior High School facing Alice Street. In 1938 the schools purchased a bookmobile to provide better library services to schools in the County. The Works Progress Administration funded the staff and maintenance of the bookmobile program.

[Square parade]

Description: The Teacher's College Band of Denton plays in a circular formation on Denton's square during a parade. The band members are wearing white uniforms and hats with the North Texas Eagles insignia. Several cars are parked on the square and in the street. [Harris Family, War Ration Books and tokens, Sept. 7, 1944]

Description: Five war ration books within a ration book cover provided by Denton County National Bank. The ration books belonged to Mary Jean Harris, Shirley Francis Harris, Helen F. Harris, Mrs. W. B. Francis, and John Richard Harris III. The ration books contain several unused ration stamps.
