Photograph of a man in a United States Marine uniform. Sergeant Phil D. Schaer was the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Schaer and United States Marine from 1966 to 1971. He was a member of the military police in Concord, California, and received Meritorious Combat Promotion to Sergeant. He was a member of Infantry 106, Recoiless Rifles - 26 Major Operations Search and Destroy, primary markmenship instructor at Paris Island, South Carolina, and received Meritorious Mast.
