[Nine men standing around and sitting in a Marion "Bob Cab" automobile]

Description: Photograph identical to 2000.014.002 There are nine men in the photograph standing around and sitting in a car that belonged to Dr. Chas. Castelaw and was a Marion 'Bob Cab'. Behind the car, to the right, is a J.T. Dyer sign. A small, brown haired girl, identified by writing on the substrate surrounding the picture as Martha Virginia Hinson (Ansel), is standing on the left fender of the car. From left to right, the men are identified as Bill Jones, Cap. Rich (Marshall Howard Rich) Chas. Crawford, Dr. Chas Castelaw, Walter Jones, "Bud" Davis, Earnest Farmer, Albert P. George Martha Virginia Huison (Ansel) and Joe Jones. Photo enclosed in an ivory, twofold substrate with identification markings (used in this description) on left side. On bottom, right corner of matte under photo, photographer's mark: "Boek Studio VICTORIA, TEXAS"

[The George Ranch house and cistern house]

Description: Postcard image of the George Ranch House taken before December 21, 1924. The ranch house is a two story white wooden home with four visible brick chimneys. The bottom porch of the house has brick columns, while the top porch has white, round columns and both have white wooden railing. There is one dormer above the top porch. The cistern house has a stairway with white railing leading to the door near top. There is an African-American man standing next to the white picket fence on the left side of the photo. Three people are sitting on the front porch of the house. In this photograph, note that both porches are open, the cistern house is unpainted, upstairs and downstairs windows are shuttered, the cistern house has a weather vane at the top, foul pens in front of house, and no driveway has been formed in front of the house. Underneath the picture, hand-written: "GEORGE HOUSE MADE INTO TWO STORY". Back of post card in black: "Post Card Correspondence Here Name and Address Here AZO [written four times to form a square with triangles in each corner] Place Stamp Here [written inside of square]. Images are slightly blurred.

There is a rocking chair on the bottom porch. Two oak trees partially obscure view of the front of house. The cistern house, to the left of the main house, is not painted and has no weather vane on top during this period. The top of a windmill is seen between the cistern house and the main house. A white picket fence is in front of the house and a wire fence for foul encloses the picket fence. Inside of the wire fence on right and to the left of the wooden gate are several wooden boxes (coops ?). There is no driveway leading to front. Stamped on back of photo in black: "316".
