History

The newsletter Hellcat News was a publication dedicated to the activities of the 12th Armored Division and its previous servicemen and their families. The 12th Armored Division lived up to its nickname, "Hellcat Division", during its ferocious advance across southern Germany during World War II. The division was activated in September of 1942 at Camp Campbell, Kentucky.

It conducted operations in France and Germany and was recognized for, among other things, being a liberating element of the Kaufering concentration camp. The unit was deactivated in December 1945 at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.
