Red River County Area Newspapers
Lying just south of the Texas-Oklahoma state line and west of the Texas-Arkansas state line, Red River County has been home to many newspaper titles that document the history of its county seat, Clarksville, as well as the surrounding region. These newspapers provide firsthand accounts of cattle trails, antebellum Texas, Civil War and Reconstruction, railroad building and advances, and much more in this richly historical Texas county. The newspaper titles available through the Red River County Area Newspaper Collection have been digitized by a Tocker Foundation grant awarded to the Red River County Public Library, in Clarksville.
