Description: Photograph of the 1949 confirmation class of at Congregation Ahavath Sholom. There are four girls in white dresses, holding bouquets and standing in a line. One boy stands at the center in the front row in a dark suit and tie. The teachers, Helen Levenson and Charlotte Siegel, and Rabbi Charles Blumenthal and Rabbi Isadore Garsek are standing behind them. The group is posed on the bimah (altar) at the synagogue. Description: Photograph of the first barge purchased by John Dollinger Jr., Inc., anchored at the Port of Beaumont. The barge was purchased from U. S. Steel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1949. Several men with the help of a crane are in the process of loading it with products from the steel factory. The Neches River is on the left with a tugboat at the left edge. A ship can be seen docked in the left background. Stamped on the back of the photograph is "BM Photography Business Men's Studio Beaumont, Texas"

[Postcard from Mabel to Mrs. M. E. Wise, November 28, 1949]

Description: Postcard from Mabel to Mrs. M. E. Wise, thanking her for her letter, sending her apologies that Mrs. Wise's father is unwell, and promising to explain why she will be unable to visit Boulder, Colorado until February. The front of the postcard features a photograph of two women standing on a large rock inside a dark cavern. Both women are wearing trousers and t-shirts, and the woman on the right has her hair pulled back into small draped turban. They are illuminated by a light from somewhere on the ground, which also reveals the large rock formations on the cave wall behind them. At their feet is a sign that reads, "Visit Cascade Caverns." The name of the cave, "Tobacco Room," is printed at the top of the postcard.
