"I dedicate this tree to the people of Fayette County, their historic past, ambitious present, and glorious future." Lady Bird Johnson, July 7, 1867. Through the efforts of congressman J.J. "Jake" Pickle, 10th Congressional District and others, the above dedication was made possible."
