Texas Labor Newspapers
The Texas Labor Newspaper Collection represents labor unions and organizations from 1901 to 1950. With a variety of titles all currently focused in Galveston, these newspapers chronicle the national and international labor reform movements that shaped the work of labor unions. The primary mission of these newspapers was to keep union members abreast of current events and debates that would affect their working lives. These titles include content from such labor leaders as Samuel Gompers, publishing stories that sought to agitate, educate, and organize subscribers into labor activism.
