This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a plowshare, of cutting-knives secured to the rear end thereof and extending rearwardly therefrom in an upward direction, and a bar connecting the mold-board and landside and arranged below the cutting knives" (lines 68-73).
Patent for a process for the conversion of liquids, fluids, and oils that converts these fluids into more buoyant products with lower specific gravities and boiling points. This process seeks to meet demand for engine fuels, gasoline, and oils, and augment the diminishing supply of these natural products.
Patent for a combined flour and meal bin sifter meant for the kitchen. The amount of flour or meal put into the machine does not matter, and the sifter may be removed when desired. The sifted material is directed into a container, and the end of the chute can be closed when not in use.
Patent for a mail bag catcher and deliverer. This invention is designed for the retrieval and delivery of mailbags by passing trains. Illustration included.
Patent for a sack laborers drag around the fields with them to store cotton in. It has a shoulder-strap that fits around the sack's mouth. There are two wheels, and a platform is attached to the axle. The sack is strapped to the platform.
Patent "...relates to cabinets for spooladapted to contain spools of thread of different sizes and from which the spools may be easily extracted one at a time" (lines 7-11) including illustrations and descriptions.
Patent for a new and improved fire-place blower. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the jambs of a fireplace, of a frame consisting of front-pieces detachably fastened to the jambs, back pieces fastened to the respective front pieces and formed with steps, and a top board connecting the sides of the frame, together with sections resting on the steps and forming a fire-screen and blower" (lines 10-17).
Patent for improvement to fly traps. The improved fly trap electrocutes flies and other flying insects as they enter the trap. In the trap, there is a lamp that attracts flying insects.
Patent for a new sliding door mechanism that allows for doors to be opened and shut by a foot-operated pedal without the use of one's hands, including illustrations.
Patent for a new and improved plow. This design "relates to an improvement in plows; and it consists in the peculiar construction of the mold-board" (lines 6-8).
Patent for a new and improved quilting frame. This design "consists of an improved arrangement of apparatus for suspending the quilting-frame from overhead rods, on which it is made to traverse for passing the quilt along the sewing-machine to be quilted, the essential object being to contrive a simple means of shifting the frame with relation to the machine and for placing it diagonally and for turning it around from side to side, so that when the quilt is very heavy one half can be quilted, and then the quilt turned and the other half quilted on the other side" (lines 7-18).
Patent for a new and improved quilting frame. This design "is to improve the means for suspending a quilting-frame, so that a sewing-machine may be more conveniently used in the quilting operation" (lines 7-10).
Patent for cultivator attachment that is useful in breaking up the soil at opposite side of the plants and leveling the ground between the rows. It can be adjusted to any desired angle (vertical, horizontal) or level (up and down).
Patent for a new and improved combination wrench. This design "is to provide a wrench whose moveable jaw is adjustable without a screw, and with whose handle are combined several useful tools or instruments" (lines 8-11).
Patent for "an apparatus for emptying sandboxes of locomotives" (lines 13-14) "operated by compressed air to elevate and discharge sand, water, &c." (lines 10-11).
Patent for improvement of pulverizer and cultivator, which according to the inventors, "pulverizes the soil in an improved manner, and with less expenditure in power in draft, and so that the land can be plowed close up to plants growing in rows, but which are not regularly in line with one another".
Patent for a device that keeps sand from being lost during delivery and "whereby the emitting nozzle is kept clear and prevented from clogging up or freezing" (lines 15-17). It is an improvement on sanding devices.
Patent for a new and improved wagon jack. This design "relates to wagon-jacks, the object being to provide a jack of simple and economical construction which will be applicable alike to light and heavy vehicles. The invention consists in [an] improved construction" (lines 9-14).
Patent for a pump that operates "a pump-rod designed especially to dispense with valves, valve-cages, or other impedimenta to the flow of liquid" (lines 40-44). It is capable of pumping liquids to elevated heights.
Patent for a hydraulic pump with "means for automatically supplying water to the pressure-pipe while the pump is working to replenish waste or leakage." (Lines 18-20) Includes instructions or illustrations.
Patent for a pump "whereby the pressure exerted upon the liquid in the pressure-pipe is alternately high and low, the high pressure being utilized to elevate the pump-rod, giving a rapid upstroke, and the low pressure to lower said rod gradually and insure a return flow of the liquid in the pressure-pipe." (Lines 26-33) Includes instructions and illustrations.
Patent for a pumping engine that uses a "combined piston rod and plunger acting in the same vertical line and carrying a crank pin box and cross heads for driving the governing fly wheel" (lines 12-15). Mounting and dismounting this engine is simple, and the engine has easily accessible packing ends of the steam and water cylinders. Also, the adjustable yoke is improved in this engine.
Patent for improvement in operation of churns by using a spring-bar to press the flanged wheel against the driving-wheel to cause the dasher-shaft to revolve, thus the cream will be churned quickly. Illustration is included.
Patent for a new and improved motor. This design "provide[s] an apparatus by means of which a series of weights or balls may be successively and continuously elevated to any given height, to be subsequently employed to operate any suitable machinery by gravitation" (lines 15-20).
Patent for a new and improved shovel plow. This design "provide[s] a shovel . . . having extensible wings pivoted to its rear surface, and combined with suitable mechanism by which they may be extended and forced inward . . . second, [it] provide[s] novel means of adjusting the angularity of the shovel and its standard with reference to the beam of the plow; third, [it] provide[s] novel means for adjusting the positions of the outer ends of the handles" (lines 16-26).
Patent for a new and improved churn. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with a removable churn-body, of the frame, with a friction-wheel mounted thereon, a dasher-spindle provided with friction-wheel, movable notched bar, and spring-rod" (lines 79-83).
Patent for a new and improved cultivator. This design is "first, to provide for use in such implements a sectional axle which shall be capable of being so manipulated as to cause the wheels to be placed at a greater or less distance from each other; second, to provide the necessary mechanism and suitable combinations thereof for moving the parts of the axle and the wheels into their desired positions" (lines 20-27). This enables the cultivator to adapt to different spacings of crops, marking an improvement over previous cultivators.
Patent for a spring wheel to "provide an improved resilient wheel wherein spring members are interposed between the hub and rim maintaining them in yielding rotation" (lines 9-15).
Patent for a process for preparing stock food and extracting oil from cotton seed. The objectives include obtaining more oil from seed and a very nutritious stock food. The other objectives are eliminating waste of the residue after the oil has been extracted, regulating protein, and killing germs from the food. The patent includes illustrations.
Patent for a new and improved stalk cutter and cultivator. This design consists in "[t]he combination, in a chopper and cultivator, of the A-shaped frame carrying the plows, chopper, and the A-shaped truck-frame, said frame being mounted on the truck-frame by the cranks and provided with means for raising and lowering it" (lines 7-12).
