Grinding Planer Knife.

Description: Patent for a new and improved attachment for grinders of wood-planing-machine knives. This design "may be securely attached to the frame of a wood-planing machine for grinding the revolving knives of the planer without removing the knives from its shaft or the shaft from its bearings upon the frame of the machine. . . . in so constructing and combining the parts of the improved device . . . it may be readily adapted to suit various-sized machines" (lines 10-22).

Description: Patent for a new and improved cloth-measuring machine. Mosquito Netting Frame.

Description: Patent for a new and improved mosquito netting frame. This design "consists of a mosquito-netting frame formed of two longitudinal rods removably fastened to uprights attached to the bedposts, and held by cords or wires passing from the outer ends of each of said longitudinal rods to the top of each upright. A transverse rod or bar is removably attached to the outer ends of said longitudinal bars or rods. . . . [The design] is simple in construction, light, durable, and convenient" (lines 9-18).

Rack and Spool for Holding Rope Coils.

Description: Patent for a new and improved rack for spools of rope. This design "consists in a particular construction of frame adapted for supporting spools of different lengths, as well as an improved construction of spool for expanding and holding the coil of rope in the center of the reel while being used, and improved hangers for the wheels, whereby the latter may be arranged within the frame to accommodate the different sizes of coils now manufactured" (lines 14-23).

Cloth Measuring Reel.

Description: Patent for a new and improved cloth-measuring wheel. This design "consists in the peculiar combination and arrangement of the cutting-board with two standards, whereby the said cutting-board is made to act as a sufficient brace for the frame, as well as to perform the offices of a cutting board. The invention also consists in means for producing a variable tension on the cloth as it passes from the roll to the reel, whereby the tendency of different thicknesses of cloth to wind the cloth in greater or lesser lengths than the register indicates is compensated for and corrected" (lines 27-39).

Device for Converting Reciprocating into Rotary Motion.

Description: Patent for a new and improved device for converting reciprocating into rotary motion. This design "has for its object to provide means whereby rotary motion may be converted into reciprocating motion or reciprocating motion into rotary motion without the intervention of cranks; and to this end it consists in a mutilated gear pinion secured to a rotating shaft and provided with suitable cams, whereby the gear-teeth upon the pinion are caused to engage with gear-teeth upon a yoke embracing said pinion" (lines 23-32).
