Wire Stretching and Reeling Machine.

Description: Patent for a new and improved wire stretcher. This design "relates to improvements in wire-stretchers for use in building wire fences, and also adapted to take up the wire and reel the same when it is desired to take a fence down" (lines 12-16). It consists, "with the main frame, of the inclined and slotted standards secured thereto, the boxes arranged on said standards, the pivoted pawl carried by the boxes, and a reel-shaft carrying a pinion and arranged in the slots of the standards and supported by the boxes" (lines 89-95).

Cotton Chopper and Cultivator.

Buckle.

Description: Patent for a new and improved buckle. This design "is composed of two parts, the upper end forming what may be termed a 'buckle proper,' to secure the end of a strap, and the lower ends formed into curved portions which fit one within the other and constructed to interlock, so that the lower end is adapted to catch a chain, bit, or other device which it is desired to connect a strap to, the . . . parts forming a hinge, whereby they can be turned one upon the other and separated entirely, or at their upper ends to allow the adjustment of the strap secured thereto" (lines 18-30).

Animal-Poke.

Description: Patent for animal-poke that prevents them from jumping or forcing their way through fences. It consists of a yoke with its ends pointing upward, a brow band, rods that connect the brow band and the ends of the yoke, and bulges at the ends of the rods.

Provision-Safe.

Description: Patent for a provision safe that keeps food cool that uses "a jacket of absorbent material inclosing a suitable frame provided with shelves for supporting the articles of food, and a vat for containing water and supplying it to the jacket by capillary action whereby the temperature is reduced through the process of evaporation" (lines 15-21). This patent improves the design of provision safes.

Cotton-Sack Carrier.

Description: Patent for a carrying sack meant to carry cotton to and from the field. It is not carried on a worker's back or dragged on the ground. The sack is on an adjustable axle and "may be arranged at an inclination to cause the truck to travel upon a curved line to facilitate the guiding of the same in operation; and furthermore, to provide a fender to prevent objects from falling between the cotton sacks and the wheels of the truck" (lines 14-20).

Churn.

Description: Patent for a simple, inexpensive, and effective combined churn motor and dasher that continuously and smoothly circulates cream. It has a large wheel the operator turns, which is connected through a series of pulleys to the dasher. A large frame holds the parts in place.

Ant-Trap.

Description: Patent for an ant-trap with an inflexible bottom with a hole in the middle, a perpendicular section rough on the inside and smooth on the outside, and the perpendicular smooth sides are attached to the edges of the bottom. The trap has a device that prevents the ants from running around the trap.

Fence-Wire Stretcher.

Description: Patent for a simple and practical fence-wire stretcher that stretches "fence-wire in the construction of fences and also taking up the slack in the wire when it sags at any point throughout the line of fence, the device being simple in construction and easily connected and disconnected from the post, as circumstances require" (lines 14-20).

Dish-Cleaner.

Description: Patent for a dish-cleaner that is used in a sink or another container. Its object is to force "air through the water and in contact with the submerged dishes" (lines 17-18). The invention also has "a water-agitator surrounded with supports for holding the dishes or other articles in a vertical position in close proximity to the outlet-ports of the agitator" (lines 20-23).

Printing-Press.

Description: Patent for a printing, ruling, and cutting press of a simple and durable construction. The printing press can print both sides of a sheet of paper and has adjustable guards so that the operator can print any size paper. The machine also provides a "means for regulating the feed of the machine for adapting it to print short or long sections or a newspaper as well as a small tract" (lines 20-22). The machine has two plates opposite each other, the weight of one counterbalances the other so double printing is possible. Any amount of ink can be supplied to the rollers, and adjustable scrapers remove extra ink from the ink drums. The uncut paper can be wound around a device if necessary. A drying-cylinder provides that the printed material has no blurs.

Description: Patent for a wheel-cultivator that attaches to planters or plows. It provides "means whereby a planter or a plow-beam carrying any desired cultivating implement can be attached to the frame of a riding or wheel cultivator frame, and thus enable the cultivator-frame to be applied to uses other than that for which it was intended" (lines 25-30).
