Charles Dickens and his Jewish Characters

Description: Book compiled by Cumberland Clark of letters written between Charles Dickens and Eliza Davis concerning Dicken's use of Jewish characters in his works, including Oliver Twist. At the end is included a reprinting of a letter included by Davis with a Hebrew bible she presented to Dicken's as a gift.

Description: Photograph, facing south, of the Main Building (in right background) and Science Building (left background) at North Texas State Normal College. The photograph was taken across from the college campus on the north side of Hickory Street, which was unpaved at the time. Visible in the left foreground of the photograph, across from the campus, is a house and its backyard including a stable and/or tool shed. A two-story brick building is also visible in the right foreground. Handwritten notes on the back of the photograph read, "campus, inner, 1913?" and "84 looking south towards auditorium".

Description: Photograph of the campus of North Texas State Normal College during World War I. The photograph was taken along an unpaved street beside the campus. The college's power plant, with smokestack, is visible in the right foreground of the photograph. In the right background, behind the power plant, is the college's original library building (later known as the Historical Building, and then Curry Hall). In the left background is the Main Building, the site of which was later occupied by the Auditorium Building. At the bottom of the photograph, a typed caption reads, "World War Campus, North Texas State Teachers College". In the right lower corner of the photograph, the number "62" is written in bold ink. Beneath the typed caption a handwritten note reads, "3 col. 60 screen zinc halftone". In the lower left corner on the back of the photograph, a handwritten note reads, "16b, 31b Power plant".
